Explain To Me. HL2 Benchmark

Can someone please explain to me in detail the benchmark. Will it be like 3Dmark and run a series of demo's from hl2 that will give me a average FPS for HL2 on my computer?

Anyway, the benchmark basically says that the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and 9800 and 9600 pro rock...and Nvidia has problems.

also, the benchmark comes out september 30th, so you can check your system if it needs upgrades and then go buy HL2

HL2 Benchmark

• Does not spit out the score in points, but instead in the amount of average frame rates your graphics card scored.
• Runs a part of the game in-engine (meaning real-time).
• Can be configured to be used with different resolutions, quality settings, etc (ex. FSAA).
