My avatar is Hunter Thompson, because he's been a very inspirational writer to me.

some of my favorite / memorable avatars here: Warbie, Pitz, Danimal, Samon, LePobz, Willie, Tyguy, Stern, Sulk (lol), rjmc, BAM

For some reason whenever I see sulk's avatar I laugh, out loud, and often times I check this forum in public places and make a spectacle.

Happy Christams Kane

It's artwork from the album "Geogaddi" by Boards of Canada.

I've been thinking about changing it, but I dunno.

He always seemed like the party animal type, I can imagine how festive he would get around the holidays.

Oh you don't know, he is a riot!

Anyone he doesn't like a 'BAM' they're gone! :D

Emote from forums.somethingawful.com

It's optimized (background) for the blue style skin on these forums - if you use the tan style, you can go to hell :|

Considering this is a Half-Life forum and I'm a big fan of the game, I chose this Half-Life logo.

What, that thing? That's... captain random. In all of his Adam7 interlaced glory.

The greatest and most influential guitarist of all time, my posts are blessed by the sight of a pure legend!

Face-palm man (my mom recognized him as James Dean, no clue if that's correct) as a visualization of "oh my god I can't believe you just said that" + Christmas fun times + lazy to change back = my avatar.

William D-Fens Foster, the most bad ass film character ever.
Although Adama and Oh-Daesu are close.

I was making a HL2 mod back in 2003-2005 called Cause And Effect, based around zombies and stuff. The logo was going to incorporate the Biohazard warning symbol. Thus, with my vested interest, my avatar became a Biohazard symbol. Then the mod died off, and I liked my avatar way too much to change it to anything else.

My avatar is logo of The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science.
And Samon today stole my idea for avatar, logo of DHARMA Initiative, damn.

My avatar is always changing :( I can't help it.

Right now it's a prairie dog...but it's not really a dog.
It's a kind of squirrel.

I got the name dinkleberry from nowhere, so I just thought of making some kind of weird berry thing - I chose strawberry.

Wouldn't have posted that pointless info, but I more recently found out the rarely known but earlier defined (in urbandictionary) meaning of 'dinkleberry'. Its another word for cling-ons, as in the bits of shite that hang off your arse after you've been for a poo. Now I feel like a right muppet.

Mine is from my favorite game series of all time, "Dungeon Master" for the Amiga, Atari ST, and PC platforms. The first real-time, role playing, first person game to use a mouse. It was critically acclaimed award winning hit, and was ****ing amazing. The puzzles and traps were so good.

Basically, it was almost exactly like Oblivion, except much less technologically sophisticated.

The only main difference I can see was that you picked a team of up to 4 adventurers. They had died in the dungeon and their avatar was frozen in a picture frame. You could resurrect the ones you wanted to bring and then they were part of your team. You controlled all of them, though they all moved as a unit.

Like WASD keys in any first person game.

You could make them attack seperately though. The guys in the back could do ranged attacks like bows or magic projectiles like fireballs, and the guys up front could do whatever - usually a 2 handed weapon and some magic.

It was real-time, and the enemies were not playing around with you. It was a good idea to have some healing potions mixed up for if one of your guys were about to die you could quickly drink one. If one of your guys died, you could carry their bones back to a few resurrection altars that were in a couple of the levels. Carrying all their gear was difficult since you can only carry so much, based on your strength.

Each character had different strengths and weaknesses, and various gear that they came with.

Building a great complimentary team was one of the best strategies to stand a chance in doing well.

Another major difference was that your characters had to eat and drink, or they would lose stamina and eventually die. This was really cool. It kept you from just standing around and raising your skills really high.

The fact that The Elder Scrolls (TES) doesn't require eating and drinking to stay alive is the reason The Elder Scrolls series isn't half the game series it could be. For example in TES, you can just stand there and jump up and down forever until your acrobat skills are maxed. You can sneak against a wall to max out your sneak skills.

If you are really really good at Dungeon Master, you might have some spare food stored in your backpacks, but not much. I have had to start over sometimes because I ran out of food and eventually all my characters starved to death. The next time through the game though, I was much faster, since I figured out the puzzles already and knew my way around the dungeons a bit, so I did much better.

The bird like creature in my Avatar was my favorite looking character you could pick out of all the characters in the series.

I put a little special effect on it. Have been meaning to redo it to something better, but haven't got around to it.

That's a dingleberry, but I guess there are different evolutions of the word.

Mine is a kind of squirrel. I think im gunna change it since naudian basically stole it, making only a slight change.

Mines an animal at a zoo reaching at a camera or something, thought it was funny

You could've just said "It's my fav character from dungeon master."

NO, I must describe the only game that ever mattered, every time it is mentioned.

I thought it was you one time when it was him. They are both really good, but I liked that turtle you had also.

God, I love you.

Um... I have a pretty self explanatory avatar.
