For some reason Opera didn't know where to look for the plugin dlls...
So i had to find this random INI file and add the plugin folder location
Then i just copied my FF plugins into the Opera folder

Why would someone lie on a poll like this?

And not just one person? Everybody?

Tinfoil hat?
Well, considering IE has 90% browser dominance, I would find it hard to believe that 90% of people who visit hl2.net use FF.

Considering that 90% of the Earth uses IE are all are business employees, I find it believable that 90% of a gaming forum uses FF.

Firefox sucks.

If you get viruses on your computer from surfing the internet you shouldnt be using your computer. Firefox has two benefits: tabbed browsing, and extensions. After that who really gives a shit. It takes too long to loadPDF files, it doesnt display numerous pages right, its harder to make websites that work with it (see slashdot, i'm not sure if they fixed that bug yet), copy and paste is buggy, and so on. The only reason it doesnt attract viruses is that nobody cares enough about it to make viruses FOR. same reason macs dont have viruses: definatly not because they are better software.

Takes to long to load PDF files - I dont know what those are, but all my sites I ever been two apart from One, work perfectly and load quicker then IE does.

Tabbed browsing and extensions after that who gives a shit - Correct, this is why FF is good.

Nobody cares enough to make viruses for it - Well thats a load of crap, considing there are so many users of firefox, there will be people out there trying to crack it.

Copy and paste bug - Never had it

So all in all it doesnt suck, and you are just being silly. Welcome to dislike it, but you cant go "It sucks" because its not your pref, I dont think IE sucks.

You mean it doesn't like the badly made page, while IE happily lets you get away with shit coding. FF is fine, its the person who makes the page incorrectly thats at fault.

It's good that MS is getting some competition. There is something called standards and then there are MS standards...
If a site works on EI and not Firefox, the chance of it using MS' standards instead of industry standards is pretty high.

Most would say 'Oh firefox isn't using with industry standards' while it's really the other way around. PDFs dont load slow for me on FF, of course I've changed some settings here and there.

It isn't that FF totally passed EI but rather FF is a bit ahead of EI on just about all fronts. And FF is a bit more secure seeing as when there is a hole they release an update much sooner than MS does.

Would you drive a car that doesnt start because it "doesnt like" the owner?

PS. It doesnt matter who makes the page, CSS is fubar in firefox. Well, it was when I used it, I havent used it for awhile.

I dont have anything against FF, just the people who think they are so ****ing clever for using it.

oh come on! your not even trying.. Comparing an internet browser that sticks to the rules better than IE.. to a CAR?

go on, have another go, edit your post and try again, this time think before you hit submit reply.

I'm not your English tutor, if you dont understand a very simple metaphor thats your own problem. Theres really no need to get so hot and bothered over, of all things, what browser you use.

Even though he used a false analigy, it still doesn't change the fact that an awful lot of big sites do not like Firefox. Now, who do you think will change first, Firefox to fix their browser to work with 100% of the sites or the websites to put extra time into coding so they can be used for Firefox, which still only has a small userbase of 10%.

With all of the security features and other features that IE7 will be bringing to the table, it will basically be a Microsoft version of Firefox, which will be guarenteed 100% to work with all websites. I have noticed problems and bugs with Firefox as well. Typing www.halflife2.net into the address bar takes me to www.half.com, something i have to change back manually. As Ghost says, the copy and paste doesn't work sometimes and acrobat files take longer to load but Ritz is also wrong about Internet Explorer being slower, to me it is the same speed.

typing that into the address bar works just fine for me, maybe you didn't type life2 ?

copy and paste work fine for me also, and i copy/paste a lot

no problems here with pdf files

...For you

For me its much faster.

Opera 8 has IRC/E-mail/RSS/Tabbed browsing/etc. etc.

Although I still use Firefox for a few things such as this site because Opera has a few rendering issues.

Then it comes down to a stability problem with different people's computers. Something...Internet Explorer does not have. Internet Explorer might have problems with security, but reliability and speed has never been an issue for me when using any IE after version 4, apart from when i used beta software.

IE is embebbed (sp?) into Windows. so it comes up with W$ and it goes down with W$.

"oh yeah, big gaping holes in security but lets skip over that to talk about speed" :p

IE is tied to the OS, thats a big problem right there, its also the only reason IE loads faster, its already running when you boot your machine.

Exactly

Internet Explorer - best in reliability and for ensuring websites work and the most simple and most user friendly to use.
Opera - fastest, difference is barely noticable but it is the fastest and most secure but hard to truely master all the features but does offer a lot of tweakability, most of which people don't care about.
Firefox - secure, coolness factor of being "hip" for not using Microsoft, a lot of features that many people don't care about.

They are the ones that i have personal experience with, and yes, i do use Firefox more then Internet Explorer due mainly to the security of it, but there are far too many websites where i have to change to Internet Explorer just toget a website to work and display properly.

I've used IE all my life - no issues, no viruses, no hassle
plus I know it probably better than any other thing on my computer
Why change a good thing

Been using Firefox for about a year and prefer it to IE.

w00t Firefox!
