Explosion in London Underground

Yeah but you're saying crap to do with the Iraq war. You can't just start saying it's because of any reason. It could've been anyone yet. It's likely to be Al-Quadia.

A second ago you thought it was aliens :rolling:

Rail union officials have said their sources had told them there had been at least one explosive device on the Underground.

Looks bad.

at the moment no one really knows what happened. later on today when they get more organised theyll be able to tell us exactly what went off and how much loss of life there was.
the news channels are just speculating at the moment, they dont have a clue.

I only posted what came from people on the phone from London. The guy who saw the bus explode confirmed it exploded right in front of him.

20 people dead so far.....

My heart goes out to their families.

I'm pretty skeptical of any numbers that emerge at this point.

That kind of thing can't be known for a while.

Mobile phone network seems to have gone down due to many people phoning to love ones.

Police: too early to say if blasts linked to terrorism.

From Sky News.

It's probably a lot higher than 20.. they just don't want to release a more accurate number just yet

Yeah, I just saw that too. Thought it was pretty idiotic thing to say.

Swindon station just evacuated due to a "security incident"

I know, but it's the police afterall. PM Blair will clear things up quickly, and I heard something about the Special Cobra Commitee meeting (or something along those lines), who are they?

CNN is reporting that Blair is gonna issue a statement momentarily.

EDIT: They've got the destroyed bus live on CNN right now.

Soldiers are infront of Buckingham Palace armed with machine guns.

6 explosions, one on a bus. - Sir Ian Blair.

Arse, I've got a candidate in London right now that I can't get hold of; I hope he's ok :|

EDIT: Army has been called in to man tube stations around London

Bad BAD BAD.

I'm watching it on AUS TV, they're seen setting a BIO tent and the guys are all in BIO MED suits. You guy have any info on that?

Hmm, Sir Ian Blair has asked the media not to speculate.

Why IRA? Who's Col. Hunt? What about Anti Globalisation extremists?

All our phones are down at work; we're in Essex!

Oh shit.

I'm meant to be flying out to see my estranged dad in Spain on Saturday and hearing this on the radio got my little sister worked up about a widespread attack on the country's infrastructure- we may end up cancelling.

It's obviously terrorism, because even if it turns out to be one mad anarchist bomber it'd still fall under "terrorism"- but that's the real question- who is responsible? For all we know it's the IRA again, or a ragtag group of blackshirts. A small group of psychos is the most favourable explanation, but aargh...

Twenty dead, and it could well get worse. Hopefully it's over.

They're just prepared is all.

I'm sure after 9/11/ London underwent some major training exercises for exactly this type of situation.

Where did you guys get the confirmation of 20 dead?

Highly coordinated simultaneous attacks are not typical of the IRA, Al-Queda however proved capable of this before.

The Emerency services are well prepared.

edit: And I do think it's pointless to speculate yet.
