Explosion in London Underground

It's another day, and London carries on as normal.

While the terrorists may have succeeded in causing disruption, death and destruction, they have failed in breaking the will and resolve of the British people. If they think they've made us fear them, they are grossly mistaken.

It hasn't destroyed us and we will become stronger because of it.

It's sad and words cannot describe, really.

I think it's going to be a case of home grown here. At the very least, they will be European. I'm confident of that.

I had a horrible day in London yesterday. And it looks as though we've lost a friend - although we still have no news of his location. He is only 21 and it's a ****ing nightmare for his family.

I live and work in central London, but I've gone home to my folks for the weekend. My poor mother has reacted quite badly to all of this.

And Tony's speech was awful. Just...awful...I...have...never...witnessed...such...bad...over...acting...

Dave

That's terrible about your friend. My condolences to you and his family. He may still turn out to just be injured in hospital, so who knows...

Agreed about Blair's speech. His first one seemed to be rather more spur of the moment and palatable, but the second one in front of the G8 leaders made me want to vomit. At the end I when he stood back from the mic, I half expected him to turn to the side, tilt his head back and raise a dramatic hand to his forehead, while his buddies draw in to comfort him and the curtains draw closed.

Been a quiet day today, in respect to people talking about it. I mean no one wants to talk about it, but theres just the occassional everyone alright you know? No one stuck in it. Gonna be back to normal in a few days, no one is letting it get them down or be scared. Not gonna let it get us down. Although there has been some suspect packages today which have put bomb squads on alert, but they were all nothing. So today is good so far.

Why do you feel the need to show everyone you care? It's like you are looking for a pat on the back

One of my freinds was critically injured in the blast.

i was reading in the paper today, and that seems to be how everyone is taking it. im quite proud of how all of you are all handling it, as everyone else whos country has been attacked in the past few years knows that you dont need to be near the blast to be affected by it. and hectic glenn, good to hear that things are going well today.

It is quite honnorable for them to be taking it that way. Props to them!

And I am very sorry for that. To be blunt, a rose in someone's MSN name isn't going to make your friend better.

What I was trying to get at before is things like this are usually done by people to give them the feeling of being moral, even though the only thought they may have given to the event is "what's the rose thing on msn? Oh yeah, (F)"

It creates two groups of people; those who are displaying a rose must be thinking of those effected by this, and those who aren't and have no morals (even though they may have spent a lot of time praying/thinking/helping people).

Can we just stop this now, its pointless and annoying. If you dont want to, then fine. im not going to put into a group because of it. If you do want to, then thats also fine, your still not going into a group though.

Well I thought you wanted a discussion on it, seeing as you brought up my post from 6 pages back......

Anyway, I hope your friend recovers back to full health

Did Jimmeh find his brother?

Yeah I did thank God. Really lucky, he took the day off (I had no idea). If he had gone and been on time...well... :|

Yeah thats great, although some not so nice stories, my mate James. His dads best mate...well his girlfriend has been missing since the blast, no hospitals have her there, and she hasn't come home, and she won't. Although with this sad things going on i've had a great night, fancy dress for a friends birthday (i went as Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer in Green day) and we all had a blast. These tragedies ain't gonna keep us down :) (although we show respect as we had a 2 minute silence today)

That is the best thing... to not let it completely halt and interrupt the daily life of the individuals who's lives were not ended. If that were the case, then the terrorists already won.

As its been said, the best way to combat terrorism, is to continue about your daily lives, and pay homage to those who have lost theirs to it.
