Explosion String. Movie

Hmmm... Your ideas intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter...

Just saying as all. The sticklauncher was a weapon that people said was from the leak, not an original idea.

OK..ONE QUESTION!! I was watching the FPS on the top of the screen and that is NOT the FPS of the video!....3 FPS is not that fast so how did you do that!!??

a dumb question here..

had a line of sticky bombs but cannot get them to go off...

gone through my keyboard and nothing sets them off :bounce:

LittleB, can you explain exactly how you get that awesome motion blur effect?

I record the movie at 300 fps and then use a high-end video program to mix those 300 into 30 fps. I used the trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro.

One more question: Did the fps downmix do the trick for the motion blur, or did you have to use Premiere's motion blur filter in addition to that?

Thanks

K, I'm still lost on what exactly I do in Premiere. Do I import every single picture, because doing the first one doesn't make the rest go. Is there a tutorial for what you did?

DarkSonic, if you don't see a box that says "import as sequence" or "targa sequence" or something, then hold shift and select all the .tga's.. i don't know about premiere, but After Effects has a targa sequence option.. also check for "import multiple files"..

Hah I was at work :) When you select the first file (temp0000.tga), just make sure "Numbered Stills" is checked.

Also, make sure you load the temp.wav file aswell, then use the "Rate stretch" tool to squeeeeze the movie portion to the size of the sound file.

Ok, I've got over like, 10,000 still images. I'm thinking Premiere froze. I'm trying to import them, just like you said. How long until it's done, or is it frozen?

 Only select the first one and push "Numbered Stills". Then wait... It takes my computer about 6 seconds for about 20k images.

I have building blocks and I have something for you to try :)

you know those compressed gas containers? Well..with the Physgun, attach 2 or more to a piece of metal and with the pistol with the stickey bombs, shoot a stickey bomb NEAR the gas containers and not on top of them or they will explode. What you wanna do is get gas to shoot out of the containers and make the piece of metal spin around really, really fast. It is so awesome to watch. I will post a video of this later because now I'm at school. Could someone tell me how to record stuff in HL2??

Thanks.

What you're describing sounds like a physic_cannister entity.

So when you ran the map with all those explosions in the game, did it perform OK, or did it just perform badly when you tried to make a movie (which you fixed with the smoothing option).

Well, I got it to work LittleB. I'm guessing Premiere 6.5 doesn't really like numbered stills, so I went and downloading the trial of Pro, and it opened in under a second! Got everything working fine. Thanks for the help!
