Exporting with textures in max

Hi there,

I use xsi to model but need to use 3dsmax for exporting and rigging etc. In XSI I have a model that uses two different textures. When I import into max I have the uv coords for the model but not the textures. I need to load the two textures into 3dsmax before exporting so that it knows which images to use. How can I do this.

So you need to take the 2 texture files then in max open the material editor


1) click "Get material" (leftmost button)
2) pick "standard"
3) in the diffuse slot click the button next to the color
4) choose bitmap
5) choose the appropriate texture
6) on the model go to subobject poly
7) go down to the material ID section and click select material ID (select the appropriate id)
8) drag the material you loaded onto the selected faces
9) repeat steps again for other ID


alterbnatively you could "get" a multi-sub object then make a material for ID's 1 & 2 (assuming those are the ID #'s)
 
Thanks for the help, Where is subobject poly? I cant find it anywhere.
