Extremely low FPS

I've got a low-end rig which just meets the minimum sys reqs
Intel Pentium 4 1.50GHz
384MB SD RAM
40GB H.D.D.
NVIDIA Ge Force FX 5200 w/ 128 MB RAM
but DOOM 3 always plays on 10fps and never goes above it even on Low Settings, 640x480 all the advanced effects turned OFF.
Nor the doom3config.cgf works for me.WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO?

2.8 ghz, 512 RAM, ATI radeon 9800 pro, 120 GB hard drive etc.

There is one simple fact: doom3 sucks performance wise. only those with alienware uber PCs can play this game without lag.

(note- i play it on high settings. its playable, but laggs a lot.)

HA! I don't get any lag what-so-ever with a 3000+ pc, and it costs $4,000 less than an alienware pc.

I run the game on max and I have a 2 gig Athlon, 512 MB DDR, and a Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb, I get a solid 45 fps.

Your comp must blow or something.
