The multilayer from F.E.A.R. will be available for free download (and playable for free) in 4 and a half days.

F.E.A.R. Combat is the complete multiplayer component of F.E.A.R. and includes all the updates, additional official maps and additional official game modes all in one downloadable file. F.E.A.R. Combat users will be able to play against the owners of the retail version of F.E.A.R. as well as the other F.E.A.R. Combat users.

F.E.A.R. Combat features:
- 10 Multiplayer Game modes.
- 19 Multiplayer Maps.
- 12 different weapons.
- Punkbuster support for anti cheat support.
- The capability to download user generated content.

To play F.E.A.R. Combat, consumers simply go to www.joinfear.com and register to obtain their free, Combat keycode. When the file is made available for download on Aug 17th 2006, consumers can install, enter their keycode, and get ready to join F.E.A.R. Combat!

The FEAR mp was great fun. Some of the things that can happen are insane. 2 guy jumping mid air at each other kicking while in slowmo. You see projectiles fly everywhere around them while your running underneath....CRAZY
 
Hell yeah, this is gonna be awesome. I'm still gonna buy F.E.A.R., it's just I'm tight on money at the moment. That is, with all the Wii fund saving, as well as just recently buying a pricey arcade stick for PS2, and still holding money aside for HL2 ep. 2 and a couple DS games.
 
And that is..? I actually have fear, just never played MP. Does it slow down everyone? or what?
 
What I think should happen to make it realistic is that the person who uses slomo slows down, but the people not using it have their movement speed halved, unless they enter slomo mode too.

That's actually how it works pretty much. If it's just DM, the person that activates it moves faster than everybody. If it's TDM the same thing happens but the entire team is slightly faster.

FEAR mp is generic rubbish, they'd have to change a lot to get people to stick with it.
 
i would enjoy it i played it on my friends computer and i enjoyed it just never thought i would buy it. also i thoguht it was suppose to come out the 14th not 17th.
 
i enjoyed it, but dm can only be interesting for so long, they should add some objective gameplay option
 
Time to pull back out the fists, weaponless rampage FTW. Good until people start to whine about why they keep getting one shotted by the flying foot.

me and my buddy, goes weaponless and we both scored stop 2 of the server, we owned so ****in hard.
 
As fun as meleeing is in FEAR, it's pretty annoying in MP if people go unarmed by choice. I mean I have some respect for people who do it, but some of my favorite things about MP was the chaos all the different guns brought while in slow-mo, not getting one-shotted from behind by a foot. The firefights could become really fun and somewhat tactical if there was no ninja afoot.

Can you only get the ketcode when the games released for download...?
Cuase i've probably just overlooked a link somewhere.

Still four hours left? Something's wrong. Counter tells "00:00:00:00" but nothing's happening. They probably mixed something up with timezones or whatever.
 
I cant wait for this, the mp demo was pretty good. Whoever coded the timer on that website is a bit of a retard though.
