FEAR. DoD Source is fun, but I wouldn't pay anything for it.

Ya im playing it 2nd time around myself! So many things are happening that i didnt notice 1st time around!
 
everyone here keeps suggesting Fear, which isn't a bad game by any means but the real question here is what the original poster wants in terms of SP vs MP.
Fear has both although i mostly read of the SP being impressive and not much about the MP.

and DoD Source speaks for itself...MP component and is fun if ur into the WW2 theme and want something in Source. :D
 
DOD:S really disappointed me. I kinda liked DOD but I just get bored in DODS and there's no variety of maps yet.

FEAR on the other hand is probably one of my favorite FPS's ever.

FEAR for sure.

I played it trough, it was a good singleplayer experience but I think I'm not going to play it again anytime soon. Well, actually, there are worse games to spend money on. Just that dod:source isn't too expensive and it's also good fun. But it doesn't have too much content either (yet). I can't tell about F.E.A.R's multiplayer since I haven't tried it. I just think some people have over hyped FEAR.
 
DOD:S is amazing, FEAR is fun for about eight hours and then I completely lost all resolve to keep playing it - bland character and level design, the combat is fun the first twenty firefights but they're all the same and it's easy.

DOD:S has massive replay value and Valve will be releasing maps regularly for an indefinite period, plus it's a hell of a lot more fun.

DOD:S, without a doubt.

Well i play the mp and its insane. People flying kicking punching shooting exploding all in ether super fast paced or really slow motion. :sniper:

Indeed. It's a shame some of you didn't try it.. this MP has real potential.. It was well made and has very little bugs. It certainly beats the hell out of HL2DM.

Also, I guess there are sooooommee people that didn't like F.E.A.R. but I don't see how lol.
 
DOD S was a waste of time, good thing I bought the gold for everything BUT DOD S....FEAR is teh win.
 
Damn, after this thread I have an odd urge to get FEAR.

DOD:S is an experience, but it's incredibly hard and if you even dare complain about the gameplay in their forums your thread will get deleted (I even got banned for doing it twice, and I was only politely complaining)

How can you even compare the two. Well considering the fact DOD is source and steam, you are more likely to get updates a lot easier (i,e, when they are officially released)
 
DoD ain't that hard. Just pick a gun and shoot the bastards. Seriously though, FEAR isn't very scary. It's a game, guys. Silent Hill's have more suspense and thrill/horror than FEAR.

Well FEAR is the #1 selling pc game. Quake 4 didnt even get top 10.

Dunno where DOD:S is in the ranks.
 
okay well i just bought both lol

dod source is somewhat fun, but there are no maps

i find the multiplayer in fear to be really fun, but maybe thats just because its a new game and everyones a noob including myself, making easier to kill everyone.

however i'm a little confused

i have a 256 mb video card, and half-life 2 looks really nice and runs smooth. fear seems to be lacking A LOT OF DETAIL and is running at a LOWER FPS. is there like a reason for this?

fear also lacks a lot of multiplayer maps, but so far im havin more fun with that multiplayer than dod source. but so far in the beginning fear isn't that scary...

but maybe i just played too many resident evil games?
 
I try to respect peoples opinions, but when are people going to realise FEAR is regulation gameplay with fancy effects and cookie cutter levels?
