With the way extraction point went and monolith not being involed this will probably be horse shit.

This is the bad side of monolith not being able to keep the name but have rights to the world. Talk about weird. Many games, Different/same names, different storys in the same world?

The campaign features a parallel story allowing players to take the role of a different F.E.A.R. soldier, battling new enemies that the other team never saw.

That's innovative thinking right there.

Sounds staggeringly dire.

What i dont understand is how this can happen? Keep the world loss the name? This might be bad for them, how will they make sense for all the people who dont follow games as much as some of us here? Most people will think the game continues with the Sierra sequals.

I might get it. I played the original FEAR and loved it, one of the few games that was actually worth the $50 when it came out. I never got the expansion though.

Don't expect them to come to some kind of resolution any time soon.

Fortunately this sounds completely horrid:

A dismal, cack-handed approach to gaming. It's so utterly dire and mundane I can't help but laugh. "New enemies." and "A parallel story." Ho-ho-ho. Go innovation.

...wtf man. Why can't we just get a sequel to continue the story...dammit.

Do you don't need F.E.A.R. on PC to run perseus mandate on PC? It said it was stand alone.

oops sorry. I meant do you NOT need F.E.A.R. on PC to run perseus mandate on PC?

You damaged my intelligence. This post made my eyes cross.

If you read that it's stand alone, then why are you asking if it's stand alone?

EDIT:
Ok, I think I have figured out what you are asking. Stand-alone means you don't need any previous versions of FEAR to play it.

I'm down. I thought the original Half Life story was only further embellished by the parallel stories of Opposing Force and Blue Shift, and hopefully this'll do the same. I liked F.E.A.R. and the expansion pack for what they were, and look forward to this.

variety is a good thing by the way ;)

wait if it's a new character then what's the excuse going to be for slow mo? Or there might not be any! :(

Insert <generic government-funded genetic engineering program backstory>. :(

Im waiting on the real fear sequel. Might still get this if its half good but the real fear sequel sounds kickass!

Hi Val! :bounce: I wasn't sure if they were still making a true sequel. If so, I don't care. I'd probably buy this because FEAR-esque gameplay is fun to me. The shooting itself with slow-mo is great.
