Because I'm waiting for Oblivion to come out, I decided to buy Fable: The lost chapters.

It hasn't taken me long to completed the game as in how far the Xbox version got upto anyway, which is good in a way, so as to not drag on (If you want the game to drag on, you perform side quests)

Now I'm on the lost chapters part and I'm liking how the story unfolds. There are some enemies that I cannot kill in mass numbers so I just run around them, using the force push just for the fun of it and to get a clean getaway

I have died once so far, but thats because I don't usually stock up on rejuvination potion before setting off on a quest and I rarely use health potions

The addition of minigames and an ever unfolding story means that there is enough to satisfy any one person. And yes, fishing does have its uses.

Graphics are scaleable and I believe the shader model goes upto PS 1.0, but also contains a not-so heavy bloom effect for the right atmosphere.

The keys can be redefined, but I'm using the Arrow default because you get use to it.

90/100

Does anybody else want to provide a score, and your reasons for it.

I thought it was somewhat decent, but found it fairly tedious about 2 hours in....then again, every game I play now is tedious.
Thats why I stopped bothering with games anymore.

Nope.
But there are other ways to "demo" a game before commiting to a purchase.
;)

But yah, the game dosent really hold a candle to the Elder Scrolls series.

was fun but I had my fighter stats close to maxed pretty early on and as soon as I had slow time I became invincible. No matter what the baddie, be it the boss, you can run loops around them with that spell and get HUGE combo multipliers that just get you XP even faster.

Cool game but, even if it didnt last ages

Didn't have enough puzzles, I liked that in games like hl2, PoP, zelda, that every area is a puzzle and you have to be smart to get through. But overall a good game, I would give it a 8.
I played it like smigit, exept I used mainly physical shield. Plus mulithit/bezerk.

i got it out of interest, i thought it looked cool and i dont have, well any rpgs bar vampire the masq...

anyway i really enjoyed it, it was very polished albeit a tad easy, i got 18 hours outta of it according to my save games not counting times i didnt save, the day/night cycle, magic, costumes, age system was very cool although i guess this is a mainstay of rpgs so might not impress fans of rpgs as much as me........

? could you say that again. In case you liked it, have you ever played planescape torment.
Edit: ooh wait, you mean you don't have any rpg exept for masquarade, well i guess by now you have hear hunderds of times you should get kotor. And this time it won't be any different.

i'm having trouble with the options, and it crapped out on me when i went to talk to some random guy... not very good first impression s, though I enjoyed it on Xbox, maybe if it starts working better on my comp I'll enjoy it then too

lol whoops, yes i meant have:E

anyway no i dont have many rpgs, dont really play that genre but quite liked fable, RECOMMENDATIONS PLS!!!!!!!!!!!!????????? :) other than kotor

Gothic, and Gothic II are my recommendations. Then Gothic III when it comes out (Hard to believe, but it might beat out Oblivion in the graphics department. Not to mention the AI will likely be better since they have had a huge headstart on the ES series.)

As for Fable, I am loving it right now. I have two characters and am playing them simultaneously, and I love it. Love it love it love it. I never played the xb version since I hate XB, and after all this time waiting for the PC version I can say I am happily gaming right now.

It wont be. Its just a slightly changed version of the XBox Fable. Its because the PC is special so they give us cool stuff ;)

Well now thats just redonkulous. Ok maybe not, but now I dont feel special. :frown:

I'm kind of interested in this game. I like how you can choose to be good or evil. Is a demo planned? I wonder how well it will run on my computer. I keep hearing it is a short game. Is it short for an RPG game or is it short in general?

Its short for an RPG game and its short in general. You'll only get about 10-15 hours on it.

Where is the flaming barbers and tatoo parlour? I swear they don't exist, and I'm here with unsightly hair and pale skin

Same here... I can't find them.

I maxed out my char and got all the keys in 10 hours (on the Xbox version)

Easiest game ever, and it's fun the first time around, but it gets REALLY boring after that (unless you use the dig glitch to get to Dragon Cliffs)

theres not too many 'parlours', only in certain towns, bowerstone, knothole etc, on your travels look for guys who glow green(the traders) and intertact with them, they might not showup on your map as green icons, maybe just the normal bluish tone, just walk close to them and see...
