Face texturing???

Sorry to bother yous with probably a newbie question.

How to I just texture one face of a brush, like i try and texture the inside of my building with one texture, then on the other side of the same brush I want to do a different texture but, it keeps texturing the whole thing?

I tried the search function, but it didnt bring up anything :dozey:

open up the texture browser(box with textures on left), then click on a face in the 3d view.. you'll notice at the bottom of the screen it will say 1-face selected.. you can then browse and apply any texture(and align etc..) if you want to select all the faces on a brush with the texture tool, hold down shift when selecting.. if you want to select multiple faces, hold down ctrl while selecting..

Naw seriously, I thought I was gonna have to go around everything that i want a diff texture on the other side and put another brush on top of it..This makes things alot less complicated!

Now for the next problem...how do I put 2 textures onto the same face but on each half (if possible) then blend them together at the joints :dork:

Yeah, don't stick to one forum for tutorials guys. Go to here,verc, Hl2world,and thesnarkpit and whatever other sites you can find. Theres more but thats just off the top of my head.

Link to proper blend alpha tutorials that can be done with people using the legit final version.

That tutorial that Z|insane gave me was for the leaked build hammer, as Dark elf said. and doesnt work the same as the proper hammer. Does any1 else know how to belnd textures from one brush onto another?

ARGH... omg I am so sorry guys. I thought it worked fine in the sdk, I had never gotten around to trying it. Blah I am so sorry guys.
