sometimes when loading at a point in the game I crash with the error "failed to open model blah.vid" - I searched the forum for this but cant find anything. How do I fix this?
I get this error too now whenever I try to start HL2.
I haven't played in a couple weeks, but went to play today and get the error before the main menu comes up (when it's trying to load the 3d background). HL2DM and CSS both work fine.
The last thing I did was dl the SDK and setup the skeleton framework for a mod, I don;t even think Steam's been running since then. I've verified my GCF cache and restarted Steam, still nothing.
