Familiar structure at Nova Prospekt

I was playing through the game again, and when I got to the part just before you get into Nova Prospekt, I noticed a structure that looked oddly familiar. I believe that a very similar one was in Half-Life, at the part where you are on the cliffs. Also, I believe it was the background of the inside panel of Half-Life's box. Can anyone confirm this, or am I just crazy?

Yeah, that does look very familiar. But I think it's mear coincidence.

I think its just coincidence, many games have simular buildings.

I noticed that too in an earlier press screenshot. It's from the cliff in Surface Tension.

I went back and looked for it in half-life, and theres actually 2 structures on the cliff, and the one in hl2 is a combination of them.

Yep, there is a similar 2 pipes thing in HL1. This one looks much cooler obviously.

I suppose it's a very common construction method for cliffsides. :E

as far as I remember, in HL1 we were at the top of one such structure. maybe there is something waiting, like an easter egg of sorts

When I played through, I noticed the samething... I don't think there was a sea by the cliff side in HL, though.

those are usually used in water-driven power plants, i.e. at the niagara falls.....i suppose
