This seems to be common these days. Take either Alcohol, or Marijuana, and attach it to a song or something "humorous" and there is always that group that automatically thinks that said song or joke is hilarious because Marijuana or Alcohol is associated with it, when in fact there is nothing entertaining about it at all and is quite poorly contrived and stupid. For example this.
Usually that group is the bastard group of Marijuana and Alcohol drinkers who drink and smoke for the stigma rather than the -enjoyment- of weed or alcohol.

Seriously, listen to that song again and REALLY try to convince yourself that it was great. It's just about as poorly conjured up as "Drink some beer, drink some beer, you can drink it anywhere" or anything along the same lines of poorly conjured up crap humor.

Agreed. In fact from my experience the only reason any one watches that show is because it has "cool" references like that , and they find it "humorous". That show is possibly one of the most overrated pieces of crap on TV. I will admit though some episodes have got me to chuckle a few times but even that was just random humour and a show shouldn't be able to rely on street cred , crappy songs and random humour to survive as long as it has , yet Family Guy seems to have done just that and continues to be praised for idiocy.

I hate that stuff too and I usually always hate the songs in Family Guy but the show is hilarious and I still love it.

If by atrocious you mean the show is ridiculous and will do anything for a laugh including self-references and callbacks, you are absolutely correct and it's part of the reason why I think it's so good still. If it was still the same old boring show it was it would have gotten old and you fags would just be complaining about that instead.
