Far Cry loading issues

I've been playing Far Cry for hours on end over the past 3 or so days. I must admit, this game pushes graphics into a whole 'nother world. But besides that, I have some issues on hand.
Ok, Far Cry has this check-point save thing incorporated into the game-which means, every so often the game saves automatically rather than manual-save-whenever you want. I play and play. I die and die. It saves and saves. I load and load. But for some strange reason, I have been having problems with loading. For instance, when I get to a new "level", it saves that. Then I die in that "level", then I go back to the main menu and try to load a previous saved game or the saved game where I just died in. But it doesn't. For some reason, it doesn't show up under the selected profile. I created a profile in the beginning and started playing under that. There is default, and you can also create your own-which I did. But the game-saves don't show up for me to load then. What is the problem? Is this a known glitch in Far Cry? Am I doing something wrong? Help me out please. I really want to get back into the game without having to start from the very beginning again. ;(

Just out of curiosity how did you fix it?

I've had loading problems with FC before but with actual loading the game up. It just would'nt load on my PC fresh installed or not. I don't know what the problem was to this day but it works now with my current setup.

I just fixed it by exiting the game and then getting back in. Then it showed up for some reason.
Your problem is slightly similar to mine, but mine boots up just fine.
