Far Cry Only On Dvd

well for those of you who though far cry would be only on DVD, here's some news from farcryhq. :cheese:

As you know since a few days, Far Cry will only be released on DVD.
But not for not-europeans. Up to date only europeans will enjoy the game on DVD. FarCry will e.g. in the United States released on a couple of CDs.
This will be helpful for people don't have a DVD drive. They can now order an import-version for europe.

The game will install quicker from DVD.
More importantly, when the game's on 4 or 5 CD's there's a much bigger chance that a disc gets corrupted/damaged as opposed to just a single DVD.

Not just old comps... mines under a year old, and I chose not to buy a DVD for my comp because frankly I have NO need for one. Instead I bought a cd-rw.

it will be on DVD only in europe. And in united states and canada it will most probably be both. So for me that i only have a cd-rw its a releaf to have it on CD-rom. I already wasted over 500$ upgrading this pc :x

I'm so glad that games are finally starting to switch over to this. I understand that many people DON'T have DVD drives, but this type of action is the first step towards getting people to upgrade.

Five CDs!? bleh :| Atleast stamp the game onto DVDs as WELL as CDs in America, don't make half of use suffer since the other half only have CD drives..

As always, Europeans are more advanced

At any rate, I still dont get what's the fuss... A DVD reader is like $30. Anyone who own a computer good enough to run Far Cry can afford that.
