fast grenade grav gun combination

Hi everybody!
I'm new here and hope some old hand can give me some reply regarding my question.
I'm sure everybody knows the combination of grav gun and grenade.
needs a bit practise and good timing.

Now lately I met quite a few players out there who can do the whole thing EXTREMELY fast, like it is combined in one button?
Also timing seems to be off since grenade always explodes by touch down...

I spent a fair amount of time playing the game as well as practising the grav gun grenade thing. But no way I could do this so fast.

I don't want to be a noob screaming 'CHEAT' but I just don't understand how this is possible.
normally those players don't have a better ping and often have kill ration 10:1
while other 'normal good' players just bring it to maybe 3:1

I thought VAC is pretty safe?
Am I missing something or am I paranoid?

Most likely you're paranoid about the whole thing. What you're probably encountering are very good players who have mastered gg+nade, and if you want to survive out there it's best that you learn it, too.

If you are using the WASD setup, bind the gg to something closer than the default "g". I've learned that the "f" key works best here. Now that you have that down, you can bind other weapons closer if you'd like - in this case the grenades. Now it's time to practice, practice, and practice. The maneuvers here are very simple once you get the hang of it. Sooner or later it will become second-hand and you won't even have to think twice about it.

When you're out there on the field, what you first do is drop your nade and switch quickly to your gg to pick it up (MB2). Now the nades, as you have noticed, are timed so don't hold onto it for very long. Very soon after you have picked it up, launch it (MB1). Do this many times and practice in public servers to really get the hang of it. Before you know it, you'll be so fast with picking up the nades that they won't even hit the ground - you'll catch them mid-air. Timing is key with this, because if you launch it too early it'll go far past your enemy and if you launch it too late you'll either end up dead or barely surviving.

yeah maybe you are right...
maybe its kind of optical illusion. It looks like the grenade just appears in front of the grav gun. no delay. not throwing move, no pickit up etc.

the other thing is the timing...
no matter small room or far away. the guys i talk about dont wait until launching the grenade and the thing ALWAYS explodes close.
like the timer is off.
is there any way to meddle with the grenade timer set it on impact?? that would explain a lot.

maybe some setting in the developers console?
I for instance just found out a while ago that it is possible to turn off the automatic weapon switch when u pick up a new weapon. very useful!

Not a problem. Meddle with the grenade timer? Well, that's all in the timing. Also, remember that the grenade's timer resets every time it is picked up with gg. So, essentially, it is possible to keep a nade going for quite some time. Maybe you could practice with me. PM for further details.

I don't use a script and I can do it fast. It involves having Mouse 4 and 5 on my Logitech MX 518, one bound to Grenade and the other bound to Grav. Switch to Grenade, left click, immediately click over to grav gun (switches instantly), right and then left click, off it goes!

You just have to throw the grenade, then quickly change to the GG, catch the grenade and throw it. I can do this is less than 3 secs. (I like doing it especially in the abandoned_factory map)

Or he's just very good at it. It's actually very easy to do correctly without a script.

I find that scripts tend to screw things up more than help me. Almost anything you can script you can do without. As well, scripts tend to not function properly at lower framerates. Not something you want to rely on in a heavy firefight.

if u script the GG trick u can't walk or move at all until u are finished cooking it. So it's not useful at all.

I have the mousewheel button on my mouse as the gravgun toggle and, a button in front of it as my alt fire button, and left click as primary fire.

With a little practice I can altfire a grenade, grab it before it hits the ground, and fling it REALLY fast. I do it without even thinking anymore. The only hard part is timing it to airburst at just the right distance.

When your mouse has like 8 buttons you can do all sorts of stuff more efficiently

But then again, they might just be dirty scripters, at which poiint you should laugh at them for needing scripts at all.
