Which one is it? Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Brothers 2, Super Mario Brothers 3, Mario 64, Paper Mario, etc?
Oh, and games like MarioKart or MarioGolf don't count. If it's not on the list, please say what you think is the best below!

Super Mario World... first video game I ever played really. :) Good memories...
 
Mario 3, followed by mario 1 then mario 2. I haven't played 64 or paper mario.
 
Ah! How could I forget the SNES Mario games?!
Pretend those are there too.

me too! the first video game i ever played, and it was in Canada... how cool is THAT? ;)
 
I liked all of them..but my favorite was Mario 3. I also liked Mario 64 and Paper mario 2...great game.

That game rocked. So did Mario64. One of those would be my favorite, but out of the poll, I picked 1. It was my first Nintendo game (along with Duck Hunt and Gyromite).
 
You should specify if you mean the REAL 2 or that confusing one we got in the US.
 
Not only is Mario 64 the best mario game ever made(IMO) its also the best game ever made, HL aside. But hey, what do I know?

There's a rumor that the one mario game for DS where it's a 3d side scroller might be Super Mario Brothers 4

but since it's not on the poll I voted for super mario 3
 
all the Mario games were so much fun.. but for me, number 3 was the most fun ever :)

I liked the earlier ones, not the newer ones, 3D ones the spinoffs etc.
 
Mario 3 is the best. Anyone who disagrees is.... well.. not of this planet.

Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario 64, and Mario Tennis (I don't care if you say games like that don't count) are my three favorite Mario games... and I'm not sure which one I would put on top of the list... but I don't have to worry since only one of them is on the list.

The super mario world on the SNES one of the best games of its kind ....ever.

and still is gr8 fun :D
 
Out of the choices, Super Mario Bros. 3 was the best. But the best game on the SNES by far was Super Metroid.

I've never really liked SMB2. I think it is far too different from the other games. Mario was a sidescroller, but SMB2 was completely differnt, with it's doors and weak gravity and picking up of objects. It's kind of fun, but it doesn't really appeal to me.
My order:
SMB1
SMB3
Mario 64

Never played Paper Mario, but it looks like fun.
 
Mario 64 is my fave :)

Also love - SMW 1 & 2, SMB/lost levels, SMB3, Mario Kart (snes/gba), Mario Golf (N64/GC), Mario Tennis and Paper Mario 1 & 2.

Mario Party titles are great fun with a few mates too \o/
 
mario 3 was great...it's just that the power ups didn't make any sense...i mean, you get a LEAF, right? and that gives you a RACCON TAIL, which gives you the power to FLY. is it just me?
