For real, favorite bands atm:

Yuuki/Chavhound
Interpol
Gomez (was hooked on Bring It On for years)
Shins
Iron & Wine?

Any comments. I know it's quite a list, but im into such a huge range of music it's hard to select a favorite few :(

Some of my current/old favorites:

Yep, Explosions in the Sky is my favorite band too. Unfortunately I missed them when they played in Austin this month... but someone put up a live recording here. The new song is nice. :)

Second favorite is probably Sigur Ros. Their Takk album is just beautiful. Unfortunately, I'm also missing them when they come here this weekend, although someone offered to videotape it for me.

They have a new song? Suhweet. Got a link?

I was in Iceland recently so I took along Takk and () by Sigor Ros as, well... Iceland and stuff. Yeah, definetly beautiful stuff. Was kinda hoping they'd be playing a show at the time of me being over there but ah well. Still, Mogwai soon.

Austin show
Houston show
(They played it at both)

Sigur Ros also has a video up of their concert in Reykjavik, really amazing if you have over two hours to sit down and watch it :D.

Yeah, my like for EITS was what was got me into Godspeed You! Black Emperor, good old progarchives.com. :D

Dream Theater, because of their amazing musicality and strangly profound lyrics. I eat, drink, and sleep Dream Theater.

When I'm not in the mood for Dream Theater (which is very uncommon) I usually listen to either Iron and Wine or Death Cab for Cutie.

U2, Queen, Greenday, Breaking Benjamin, Lighthouse Family, M People, Supertramp

Interpol and The Cardigans. I also like a lot of the bands posted here, except Coheed & Cambria. What's up with that? They're horrible, even for epic metal.

The Cranberries (Irish bands ftw!!!!!!!!!!), U2, Enya (not a band but....), Steppenwolf, Lindisfarne, Bangles, Thompson Twins.
