I don't want to sound cliche but David Chapelle. I've liked him ever since Half-Baked. I also like Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld is pretty good.

Dave Chappelle I think, don't know enough comedians though tbh.

Dave Chapelle rocks..there is also Chris Rock. Dane Cook sometimes. George Carlin.

Dane Cook is like a young Carlin, Jim Norton is REALLY good, kinda like a new age Lenny Bruce, I've really gotten into Pablo Francisco and Brian Regan though.

Jim carrey is the all time best comedian and is far more classy than Tom Green.

I hate Adam Sandler for some reason. I think he is just not funny. I love Jim Carrey though. :D

Peter Kay?

Jasper Carrot?

Ricky Gervais?

Billy Conolly

Steve Coogan?

Who the hell are your people :p

None of you liked the Mesh Does HL2 Series!?!

Although my vote is for Dave Chappelle as well.

Exactly...criminal not to have Gervais or Kay in there!

Damn these thread bring back the memories...RIP Bill Hicks the most famous unknown comic ;(;(;(

Chris Morris is bloody funny, but I dunno if he falls into the class of comedian

In my opinion the four people you have listed aren't that funny, they certainly couldn't write new material every night like the real comedians do.

Peter Kay?

Jasper Carrot?

Ricky Gervais?

Billy Conolly

Steve Coogan?

QFE, not too sure about Billy Conolly, though, went off him as of late.

I like Ron White and Larry the cable guy
lol Ron White is great...such a typical texan but funny. Half the speed of smell and the sunglasses are awesome. (i like em...i dont love em)

There are a lot of club comedians that could be listed on that, I agree on the choice of a "Other" option

I'd probably have say George Carlin or Richard Pryor just because of their bodies of work, but my personal favorite is Mitch Hedburg. I just burst out laughing at anything he says.

Mitch Hedburg is one my favorites too.

Steven lynch is one of my favorites, though he sings instead of doing stand up comedy.

Out of this list: Adam... he is funny as hell, plus he is Jewish.

Adam Sandler never seems to smile and acts in the same boring monotonous way. He won teenagers comedian of 2004 for some reason....Carrey all the way.

I bought the entire series plus the Paedohpilia Special on dvd for a tenner the other day. I'd forgottern just how funny it was!
I love that he got that MP to bring up the new drug "cake" in the House of Commons... Genius stuff!

Bill Bailey's fantastic too!

Thank you Venmoch for being the only person to mention Eddie Izzard
"We'll change the name of Mr. Dog dog food... We'll change it to... Erm. CESAR! F*cking Cesar! He was a Roman leader - small dogs are Roman leaders..."

Bill Hicks and Billy Connolly.

I like Tom Green, but I wouldn't call him a comedian perse. Maybe... an entertainer :p

Farrowlesparrow always has me in stitches ;)

But for television standup, it'll be Jasper Carrot i think. the others can be funny at times but not always funny. From what i remember, Jasper always had me laughing :)

The worst... Roy Chubby Brown and Jim Davidson... so bloody awful.

As for Peter Kay. When you live round here, its funny because its true :D

On that poll my favourite would probably be Jim Carrey. I like a lot of different comediens though.

Jim Carrey.

Though I'd prefer Conan O'Brien or Jon Stewart.
