Billy Conolly

Steve Coogan?

Who the hell are your people :p
I choose Jasper Carrot, and Ricky Gervais, tbh. Those are my favourite comedians EVER!!!
"Oi! Carrot! They've got no Cowwin' BOVRIL!"

I like Dane Cook, Seinfeld, Hedberg and more.

I think Dane Cook is coming to my college sponsored by some frat as part of his "Tourgasm" around the US he's doing.

Add David Chapelle to the poll. That's who i'd vote for

I would have said Chris Rock at the drop of a hat, but if I had a listing of all the favorite comedians I would have possibly picked someone else.

Out of the options Jim Carey is the funniest though IMO

I love comedy

EDIT: I've said it before in another thread: Jon Stewart is awesome too

You should of added more comedians.

-Jimoen
-David Chappelle
-Robin Williams

Mitch Hedburg is one my favorites too.

Steven lynch is one of my favorites, though he sings instead of doing stand up comedy.

I'm a HUGE Lynch fan! F your sister, Special Olympics, the bowling song, and my all time favorite is Full Blown AIDS, he is a really kickass comic.

Forgot to add Wierd Al but he isn't really a stand-up comedian

:)

I'll rephrase my original comment. Which of these 4 comedians is the finest and funnest?

Dane Cook is like a young Carlin, Jim Norton is REALLY good, kinda like a new age Lenny Bruce, I've really gotten into Pablo Francisco and Brian Regan though.
Brian Regan kicks ass, there are so many other comedians other than those hollywood actors who are told what to say.

That is such a flawed argument. You sophist!
None of them are told what to say. Take Jim Carrey for instance, when being interviewed he doesn't know what the question is going to be and has to use his wit to make the situation enjoyable.

none of those options are good. WHERES ROBIN WILLIAMS, I'M DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Smith without a doubt. I've loved him since the first episode of Fresh Prince. He is an amazing actor.

You left out a lot of guys...
Seinfeld
Steven Lynch
Ryan Regan ("You can eat as much as you want!")
Dane Cook
Robbin Williams (HBO standup was absolutely hilarious)

I honestly don't care about these wannabies. I really just wanted to see what the consensus on the best comedian in terms of movies was. I didn't ask for a lecture on other "comedians".

I figured I might as well revive this thread for what I have to say.

I just got back from Dane Cook's TOURGASM and it ruled!

He's touring across America and there's a guy on campus that shelled out the cash for him to make a stop in Grand Forks, ND of all places.

It was a little over 2 hours, a couple other comedians started it off before Dane came on...but it was absolutely hilarious. Almost all new material and the old stuff he did was elaborated upon and it was just great. I can't wait for his new cd to come out. In about an hour and a half I'm going to his after party to meet and drink with him. Gonna have to bring my camera to get some picutes.

In order:
Bill Cosby - just funny period
Chris Rock - so offesive and its all true
Robin Williams - history of golf
Pablo Fransisco - just funny

Dude, ask him when his CD is coming out! It was supposed to be out in March! ;(
And tell him I love him! SU-FI!!

Mitch Hedberg
Brian Regan
Dane Cook

GOD DAMMIT!

I just got back from trying to get in the party. There was hardly anybody there and the door to the frat was locked. Nobody in sight of the door...there was no way to even get in. Apparently there was a $5 cover charge too and I didn't have any cash on me...so I guess I was screwed either way.

I'm pissed now. I had a chance to party with Dane Cook...and now that chance is gone.

The "funny" guy from Good Morning Vietnam

"Sir, in my heart, I know I am funny."

"So frenchie... which type of music would YOU like to hear? ..Well, I like a polka as much as the next man.. Great answer Frenchie! He comes another Polka!"

[SARCASM]hahaha LOLOLOl ROFLMAO :D[/SARCASM]

No matter what, it goes like this...

#1- Bill Hicks

#2- Lenny Bruce

#3- George Carlin

#4- Dennis Leary

#5- Brian Regan

I like Jim Carrey, especially in Ace Vantura: Pet Detective. It's so funny.

Worst Poll Ever.

I'd definitely say Dave Chappelle, Larry David, or Chris Rock.

hmm, Peter Kay? or Billy Conolly?

Adam Sandler for polls

Kelsey Grammar for American TV comedian

Richard Pryor for stand up comedian

Peter Kay as UK TV comedian

As for Peter Kay. When you live round here, its funny because its true :D

yeah peter kay is great

George W Bush gets my vote....no seriously that man cracks me up.

But in the more conventional comedian sense, i'd have to vote for Peter Kay (claim to fame: I actually work less than a mile from the Phoenix Club in Bolton - ding-dang-doo!!!)

It depends if you mean stand-up comedian or movie comedian. I suppose you could make another category for talks shows too. I think I'll mention Will Ferrel since no one else has.
