In this thread you can tell your favourite gaming moments. Okay, here are mine:

Far Cry - I just did this now; I was playing the map, "River" and I was in that boat with the machine gun/rocket launcher. I saw what seem be what was like a ramp with 2-3 Merc's standing there with a highly flammable cannister right next to them. I accelerated and shot a rocket directly at the cannister. As I hit the ramp it exploded and my boat turned 360 degrees (Jame's Bond style) and rammed into a barrier, which killed a merc and the boat jumped over the barrier due to the speed I was going at.

Counter-Strike - Once I took 9 terriosts out single-handly, continously after each other on the map "De_Train". All the players were amazed and called me a "hax0r", yay!

Hitman - One of my all time favourite levels of all time has to be the level in Hitman called "Tradation of the Trades", its just a unique/cleverly done level.

Half-Life - First time running into the Marine soldiers with their then awesome AI.

Soldier Of Fortune- Blowing away my first baddie, and seeing his leg fall off and limping.

Far Cry - er, millions of times. That's emergent gameplay for you.

AVP2 - every bloody time my motion tracker went off.

Half-Life - Everything!

Max Payne 2 - Vinnie 'Baseball Bat' Gognitti's "tragi-comic existence".

And loas more, most of them a result of random multiplayer shenanigans. You know, I love these threads but they never seem to get much response...

Holy mother of God there are so many. Here are a few from the top of my head.

Half-Life - Being in that air duct while shafts of light appear as marines try to shoot you.

X-Com - The all out attack on Cydonia at the end.

Freespace 2 - Taking out a huge alien capital ship and barely making it back for repairs.

Freedom Fighters - Finally getting a full squad together and storming the main communist compound.

Undying - My first decapitation with the Scythe.

MOH - Normandy invasion.

Doom - Getting enemies to fight each other and watching the ensuing chaos.

Morrowind - Being able to jump about 250 ft. in the air with my custom magic items equipped.

Halo - Taking out a covenent gun emplacement by driving the Warthog over it, in the process doing 2 flips in the air off a cliff.

Monkey Island 2 - Waiting 10 minutes until you're lowered into a pit of acid and die. Even though the entire game is told by Guybrush himseld in flashback (LOL!)

Symphony of the Night - Finding the Rune Sword. Basically a sword that Alucard throws the entire way across the screen.

Final Fantasy 3 - Opera Sequence (of course!)

Final Fantasy 2 - When Palom and Porum turned themselves to stone to save the party.

Out of this World - The arena sequence when you get to drive a huge freaking tank.

Far Cry - Hangliding onto the deck of that boat sniping fools along the way.

GTA 3 - Trying to snipe Salvatore as he comes out of Louie's from a nearby rooftop, missing and shooting one of his body gaurds, having to run him off the road in an ensuing carchase, THEN having to avoid the cops after I kill him.

Homeworld - The story, the music, the cutscenes. (And the manual, absolutely the best game manual of all time.)

Splinter Cell - Shooting dudes through a window while repelling down a wall. Or splitjumping and dropping down on dudes.

KOTOR - The chaotic battle at the end where you face seemingly endless Dark Jedi.

Fallout 2 - Playing all the sides in New Reno, working everyone against eachother.

Prince of Persia SOT - Anytime I got the chance to wallrun.

SSX - Racing with a longboard, just doing the necessary tricks to get by.

Super Smash Bros. - Simply dominating all my friends as Link.

Tiger Woods 2003 - Getting a hole in one on my very first hole, my very first time playing it.

Duke Nukem 3D - Going into the stripclub for the first time.

Every scene with Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2. He just reeked of baddass-age. Phil La Marr is a great voice-actor.

In fact, I'm going to say the entire Metal Gear Solid plot as one of my choices. Brilliance on a stick. Can't wait to see how MGS 3 fits into it all.

In Splinter Cell, the burning warehouse at the beginning was cool.

Omaha Beach in Medal of Honour: Allied Assault.

The twist in Silent Hill 2. If you've completed the game, you know what I mean. That one.

All of Max Payne 2. All of it. Best game of 2003 in my opinion.

That's all I can be arsed thinking of right now.

insult swordfighting in monkey island was great

finaly beating the last level on farcry WITHOUT cheats on hard, infact getting through the whole game on hard.

DN3D - the whole thing totaly amazed me

ive got more, ill try and think of them soon

amen brother, amen :)

//edit I'd like to add the first time I used the Cannon Bros. services in Secret Of Mana. Don't make em like that any more :D

Final Fantasy VII - most fantastic game in the world.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends - Almost better then FFVII.. almost.

Mario 64 when entering the first waterlevel.. I made my way to a tall pole and climbed it.. Once on top mario stood on his hands and i looked at the scenery. One of those oprah moments..

tetris - first time playing when i was like 6 or something.. thought the whole idea of the game was to build as tall as possible.. I won every time..

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - from the moment i inserted the gray little box into my N64 until I said goodbye to the sages. wonderful game.

Halo - when the creepy part of the game takes part. When millions of white headcrab looking things are jumping at you, could had mistaken the game for a R.E game.

i have more, but no time writing 'em all.

HL- Using a Barnacle to get headshots at 3 grunts with the revolver and then managing to blast the barnacle with my last crosbow bolt.

Medal Of Honour- Getting to the secret level and slaughtering everbody with the robot companion.

Medal Of Honour Allied Assualt - Omaha Beach

Call Of Duty - Stalingrad

Final Fantasy 4-8 - Everything

UT - Single handedly killing 4 other players with the bio rifle.

Ut2k4 - level 90 daredevel while squashing two enimies.

Unreal 2 - The Spider Gun

Armed And Dangerous - The Shark Gun and "We Love The French" cutscene

Starcraft - Building a huge photon cannon defence system that destroyed 10 of my brothers Battlecruisers. Then swamping his small base with 20 Carriers.

Mafia - Shooting a cop as he was writing a speeding ticket

Halo - Speeding in the buggy trying to get to the dropship at the end of the carrier before the core explodes.

Deus Ex 2 - Hacking the vending machines

Conflict Desert Storm 1&2 - 3 tanks came at my men 2 from the front one from behind. After managing to blow two up with a L.A.W. I got my sniper behind the last one and blew it with remote C4

I've got plenty more but this is all I can think of right now.

Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Confronting Tavion and Desann

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Choosing between light and dark side (including those cut-scenes)

Super Mario 64:
After many weeks of playing, finally having that 120th star :cheese:

IL-2 Sturmovik:
Everytime I kill an enemy pilot

Half-Life:
First time in Xen ( 1. Right after RCS - 2. In the end) AND THE WHOLE GAME!

Command and Conquer: Renegade
The cargo ship level and the first time I saw a tiberium mutant

EDIT:

Thanks for reminding, DarkStar
Half-Life: Grunts shooting air duct when I'm inside

Max Payne 1 & 2 - EVERYTHING both rocked my box.

HL - seeing Barney shoot desperately agaisnt the Tentacles and the OSPREY flying over us dropping in Marines. And everytime I saw the G-man.....

Painkiller - the Hell level...pure wowtasticness

Crazy Taxi - the 1st time I sped down the streets ! the style baby, the style....

Homeworld - yes DarkStar, the manual was...."OMG!! So much backstory??"

Splinter Cell - Taking out the President in the last level.

Halo - the level inside the Covenant ship, when the Flood are inside and you have to drop back to the ground with some fluids....

SOF - taking all my rocket ammo into the final boss, then shooting him with 3 bullets from Heavy Machinegun into the head and watch the final cutscene...

KOTOR - 1st time I saw Taris.

Flight Simulator 2004 - going thru the 3d clouds, a dream come true....

So mcuh more I can't remember

Orginal Prince of Persia figuring out that you had to put your sword away at the end + the bit where you get knocked out in halflife.

Grim Fandango - The whole freakin game

Half-Life - every single battle with the marines and the special ops that i've ever had

Splinter Cell 1/2 - Whenever i get to finish a level without anyone even knowing i was there :D

GTA:VC - Doing a half-hour car chase on five stars :D So fun

GTA 3 - Half an hour car chase on the third island with all the hills

Max Payne 2 - The whole game was awesome, one of the best story's ever

Deus Ex -
Realising i'd been set up into merging Icarus and Daedalus to create the ultimate AI, Helios

KOTOR - That game is so addictive, the best part was when
i found out i was Revan!

Hitman 2 - Completing any level of that game with Silent Assassin ranking.

But the Ultimate honor goes to Operation Flashpoint

I can't remember what the level is called but its an Instant Action one and you start off with about 30 other members and you storm a russian barricade. Tanks and BMP's coming out of the wood works, soldiers falling left, right and center. I pick up a LAW off a corpse and take out the last BMP. Me and about 15 other guys left hold the position until several T-80's and T-72's come out from behind a forest. Then spetnatz paratroopers drop in. The tanks rush toward us, 2 of my guys take out one tank and i drop my law and reach for an RPG, then a remaining T-80 drops half of the survivors so its only me and a handful of soldiers now. I aim the RPG at the tank and fire, and duck immediately afterwards. The tank recieves a direct hit, but remains somewhat unfazed. Its turret aims in my direction no less then half a second after i fired. It's machinegun opens fire at me as i duck as fast as i can, just as i'm lying down flat, the body infront of me is riddled with mg bullets. I'll never forget that.

That corpse saved my life, at least for a couple of minutes anyway. Eventually i blew up that tank but i got obliterated by another. Coolest gaming moment ever

Final Fantasy 7, once I got into it there were plenty of "yay!" moments. Also plenty of "I'm going to ****ing kill myself if I don't kill this boss this time" moments, but it evens out :)

Half-Life/OpFor, obvious reasons.

Another in Deus Ex:

ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!!!
ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!!!
ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!!!
ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!!!

RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!
RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!
RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!
RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!

Also, when Icarus first makes contact with you. That was just scary.

So many memorables bits in that game. Too bad the second one didn't have memorable bits.

bleh, I did it with realistic... Farcry wasn't very fun, hiding and sneaking all the time.

Half life: going through a pitch black vent and being freaked out by a surprise head crab attack.

Jedi Knight 2, the first time you got the lightsaber and the first time you duel a dark jedi (got my arm chopped off the first time, hehe).

Playing Halo on Co-Op.

Playing Delta Force 1 and 2 on 2-computer Co-Op LAN... Best experience ever.

The beginning of Half-Life, with the explosions and headcrabs.

Shooting the first baddies in Soldier Of Fortune.

Max Payne 1 & 2.

GTA 3 and GTA:VC both rocked my box0rs.

The first time I blew an enemy tank into smithereens with a Carl Gustav Launcher in Operation Flashpoint.

No One Lives Forever 1 was awesome through the entire game.

No One Lives Forever 2, especially the India level and meeting Crazy Harij :p

When I played Rouge Spear once on the ship level, and saw one of my teammates getting shot and falling lifelessy to the floor from a shotgun blast to the head on point blank range.

The first Worms game and Worms United. Endless hours of fun.

I prolly got some other stuff I don't remember atm, but I'll update the list later.

i completely shit myself when Icarus started showing up. Deus Ex was full of great moments. shame about the 'sequel'..

had some great moments playing Planetside. i used to play as TR. the new conglomerate (or 'the smurfs' :p ) had completley overrun Ishundar, Ceryshen and were about to take Forseral.

for those of you that haven't played Planetside let me explain. each faction has their own sanctuary island and no other faction is allowed to set foot there. the only way another faction can land on your sanctuary is if they control the three islands connected to your sanctuary. suffice to say, the smurfs were about to take control of all three of our islands. so we were backed into a corner, and ready to fight to the last.

my outfit had just come back from fighting on Hossin. we teamed up with 3 other outfits and organised an assault on Ishundar. i total, i think we probably amassed almost 300 troops, mostly outfit members, and the odd people who freelanced. i was a gal pilot, and part of the first squad that would hit Ishundar. another squad had gone ahead to secure towers and set up AMSs around the continent.

our plan was to hit as many bases at the same time as possible. the clever part was that we weren't going to pile everyone into the same base, but once we'd capped one, the squads waiting in reserve would move to the next base, and we'd just bunnyhop like that.

you should've seen it. the sky was filled with gals and mosqs and reavers. it was the most organised online game i had played.

the squad i was carrying in my gal was a crack team of hackers, engineers and a couple of heavy assault guys. i'd drop them off at the back door, they'd disable any mines/turrets, make their way to the CC and hack the console. once we had a successful hack it was up to us to hold the fort until reinforcements arrived. we had some brilliant engineers and assault guys who managed to repel what seemed like an endless wave of smurfs. they'd stupidly run over mines, or bunch up at bottlenecks which allowed our pounder max to blast them into oblivion.

the greatest moment came when we became isolated and surrounded by smurfs. then before we knew it, the air was filled with flak as our reinforcements had finally arrived. it was great stuff. the max units jumped down and blew the crap out of everything, we had tanks rolling through and chewing everything up. awesome.

in all i think it took us 6-7 hours to fully secure that continent. i was knackered afterwards so decided to call it a day. logged in the next day and all our work had gone to waste, when everyone had gone to bed, the smurfs decided to take all the bases back.

huge fookin post, sorry about that. that was just possibly my most memorable moment playing alongside like minded people. too bad it became a bore.

Agreed, I'm still on realistic at River, I can't get myself to beat it because it's gotten so tedious and boring, pondering restarting on normal

Anyhow, FF3's opera was great :)
