you know, the guy who would hack big websites and tell them how to fix the hole, he's gonna get a minimum of 10 years.... it sux.... especially when he was trying to help

But murderes , drug dealers , or DUI get 2 yrs or no years. Justice.

Yeah, I just watched a segment about this on The Screen Savers. It's sad really, getting punished so hard for trying to help out. Did he actually do anything that hurt the NY times website, or did he just find the exploits without actually using them? I'm under the impression he just found them and the times got pissed off because he was looking in the first place which is bullshit.

Thats so wrong. Society is bent on greed, and publicity. Makes me sick.

I watched the screensavers a while ago and he was there in an interview. Creepy guy, kept on saying that he was 'meant to be' at certain places at certain times. Struck me as quite a weirdo. If he wanted to help with security he could have done it a legitimate way. I hope he gets a few years to mull it over. Idiot.

Wake up now - greed makes the world go 'round, buddy.

ARGH I'm sick of that saying, there is no one thing on Earth that makes the world go round like money or honesty or greed, I know it's just an expression but it's an EXTREMELY stupid one and it makes me wanna hurl. And a minimum of 10 years? That's sick even for a stupid person. How would you like a few years to mull over being a dumbass? :flame: :p

Gravity makes the world go 'round.

Lol yep sounds right to me. Its understandable that he got a jail sentence since he broke the computer misuse act and the data protection act i think.... But i think his actions were way justified.

He was stupid to do it, thats all there is to it...

actually, now that i think of it, he could have asked those websites for a hacking job, like trying thier security and patching it for them. he could have been legal, and made tons of money

I think several companies offered him a job but he declined. I agree he is pretty wierd, he could have been making tons of money.
