I have got a few questions for either Gabe or if you guys can answer them that would be a great help also.

If Hl2 is going to be released are you prepared to be sued by ATI?

Since you guys are going to release in April does that mean you are re-writing the source?

What is the offical word about Monthly Payments?

Do you recommend pre-ordering Hl2?

How much of a resource hog is this game really? I dont know if I should get the 9800 or something better.

How can you get in contact with Gabe?

As far as I know, the release date is unconfirmed. Gabe isn't going to answer that one

Again, I don't think they're really talking about that yet.

You know, I've bought so many poor games when I could have waited for the forum reviews and avoided it (not least of all Halo). If I were you I'd wait a bit and make sure the game is actually any good first. It wouldn't be the first high profile game that didn't turn out to be great despite loads of hype.

Scan around the forum and there are various comments (both from Gabe and from people who've tried the leak). As long as you have a halfway recent machine you'll be able to play it. Whether it's worth upgrading for the DX9 stuff... only you can decide that

If the source code took four years to write, and they don't plan in releasing it in four years, no.

Any DX8 video card
That should get you a good frame rate, albeit with a few minor details off.

I think he's trying to imply that since ATI and Valve made a deal to ship Radeon 9800s with Half-life 2, Valve didn't follow through which is (I would assume) in breach of contract. Hence, ATi would sue Valve for breach of contract. I doubt that will happen though. Gabe answered the question regarding paying to play per month. Basically if you buy teh agme you won't have to pay per month to play multiplayer, BUT you won'y be able to download additional content. The April release date has not been confirmed by Valve, the developer, only Vivendi, the publisher.

How would some prick stealing the an 8th of the game and releasing it, affect ATI in any way? ATI bundle or no ATI bundle, a pre-release version isn't going to affect them at all.

However the fact that the stolen source code would contain source licenced from Havok, could be a problem, but that would depend on Havok's assesment of the damage. 1) Is the amount of data stolen relating to Havok that insightgul or damaging to Havok? 2) Was it something that could have been avoided if it wasn't for Valve's complancency, or is it something that could have happened to any other company.
