I despise anything that has those random encounters "oh noes, I just stumbled into a group of angry goblins in this seemingly empty hallway, just like 10 feet ago. Now I'll just have to beat 'em in this exciting 'press the attack button' turn-based combat that takes forever with annoying camera switches and poses I couldn't care less about."

No no, I meant... Remember how FF3 in the US was actually the Japanese FF6, but they didn't bring over a few and just thought renaming it would be simpler than releasing FF2 and then a year or so later releasing FF6? So is this the Japanese 3 that wasn't released over here or the Japanese 6 (named FF3 in the US) that was?

It's a remake of the Japanese version of FF3 that came out on the original Nintendo, not FF3 from the US, which came out on the Super Nintendo(best game ever btw). The Japanese FF3 has never been released outside of Japan.

Meh, I loved 7 and thought I loved all the rest of them before I plowed through FF 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 - and realised I hadn't really enjoyed playing any of them all that much (although I was kind of liking 9 before I had it nicked back off me by the game's owner). I stopped playing at least 3 of those before I completed them because they suffered from the whole plot-falling-off-a-cliff problem which is common in a lot of FF. I honestly think only 7 has managed to avoid this problem, although it's skin of the teeth stuff for a while there ("Sorry, I thought I was Zack lol").

I like what they've done with the graphics and game engine for FF3, so maybe that can help recreate the magic of the best of the series. I'm not going apeshit at the prospect of this though. I don't even own a DS. I don't know why I made this post.

This and LOZ: Phantom Hourglass...quite a 1-2 punch for the DS. I expect both to be stellar. And a new Castlevania.....god i love my DS.
