Fifth Annual Saxxy Awards Announced

It's that time of year again! ...No, not Christmas. A new blog post released onto the Team Fortress 2 blog has revealed the Fifth Annual Saxxy Awards, the latest in Valve's long-running series of filmmaking competitions. Like last year, the Saxxy Awards now accept entries from multiple universes, such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, rather than just focusing on Team Fortress 2.

Valve are experimenting a little more with this year's tournament, limiting all categories to a total of 3 minutes, except for "Extended", which features a limit of 5 minutes. The 6 categories for this year's event are listed below.

• Best Action
• Best Drama
• Best Comedy
• Best Short
• Best Extended
• Best Overall

The prizes for this year's competition are completely unchanged, as all winners will receive a rare "Saxxy" weapon to use in Team Fortress 2 while the winners of "Best Overall" will be flown to Seattle for a free tour of Valve's studio. Submissions for the Saxxy Awards will only be accepted from November 4th through 11th before voting via the Steam Community takes place up until the 16th. Winners, selected from the community-chosen nominees, will then be chosen and announced by Valve on November 18th 2015.
