I'm in the market for a fair film scanner, and was wondering, what experience do you guys have with these things?
I don't have access to a darkroom (unless I ask my highschool), and I don't know how to process and print color negatives.
I have a huge prejudice against digital dodging and burning, but I guess I don't have much choice atm.
The main reason I want a film scanner, is because I just plain don't know how to process, adjust, print, and enlarge color negatives. I can do black and white, just fine, and I can dodge and burn BW, but i've never ever tried to do my own color shots. BUT, I want to start working more with color, and my only other option would be to take ALL my photos to 1 hour photo (and god knows what sort of color adjustments they make).
I just want a film scanner that can scan my processed color negatives accurately, so I can dodge and burn in photoshop, and fake in some multigrade filters.
Ideally in the 100-300 US Dollar range.
