List the films that have had an effect on you. Examples, one that made you want to become somthing (I dont know, like you saw Matrix and wanted to become a stunt person). This is not a "List your fav movies thread"

Star Wars
This film was one I saw very early, gave me a interest of space, I spent most of my younger years reading about space, watching tv shows about it, etc etc, also given me a love of sci fi, which I did'nt have before watching Star Wars.

Arachnophobia
This was not a nice thing, I saw this when I was a kid, and it gave me, ironicly, Arachnopbia. I had never liked spiders, but when I saw this film, It was bad, I froze up around spiders, I did'nt even like dead ones. Only within the last few years have I sorted it out, and now I dont freeze up as much.

The Matrix Trilogy (I'm addicted to slo-mo)
Scarface (Classic. "Say hello to my little friend!")
Pulp Fiction (Best story telling and most memorable lines in a movie)
The Exorcist (Scared the shit out of me)
Jaws (I now never go to the beach)
Dawn of the Dead (Cult Classic. My dad got me into the whole zombie franchise starting with this movie. Goddamn am I grateful for that.)
Monster (I cry everytime I see this movie ;()

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

My relationship with my girlfriend in movie-form.

;(

I can't really think of any that had an effect on me.

Weird relationship. Great film though.

Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogies - great, fun stuff :) Reminds me of what it was like a little kid again.

Oh - add Stand By Me and the Goonies too.

Back To The Future Trilogy

Ever since, I have believed that time-travel is possible... to some capacity.

I'd just broken up with my girlfriend with i saw this, it hurt. allot. :(

Donnie Darko
Makes me think I'll have to save the world one day.
Fight Club
I definetly have schizophrenia.
Requiem for a Dream
A movie that really makes you think the next time you make a bad decision or ever get addicted to drugs.
Waking Life
What is the answer to life?
Buffalo '66
Its time to stop running toward your problems and just be with the one you love.
Stand By Me
Stay close towards your friends.
Garden State
Its time to just...be.

Those are the movies that have had an effect on me.

E.T.

When I was a kid, after watching this movie, I started seeing E.T. everywhere. It ruined my childhood. I would nerver go play in the park anymore and the other kids called me the robot, because I also started wearing aluminium as clothes.

I'm sorry, dude. :( Its a sharp, pointy, hurty movie, ain't it? :p

My favorite film, though.

Red Dragon
The movie scared me to hell because I was only 10 years old then......

Back Door skanks 17, definately the best of the Back Door series and makes you realize just how unhappy you really are if you're not a poolman.

It's an excellent film. I believe we have spoken about it and the orange/blue/green hair before ;)

Schindlers list really affected me too.
Donnie Darko makes me want to save the world too... or just love everything about life, right now, as it is.

For what it's worth, A Walk To Remember made me cry ;( First teen-demographic sad drama I ever saw.

gallipoli, the ending is pretty shocking,1 of the better anti-war films

I, Robot made me hate robots! DIE ROBOTS DIE!

Apoklypse Now War aint so fun as I thought....

The Motorcycle Diaries
Donnie Darko
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Lost in Translatiob

casual....with michael j.fox right? and a young sean penn

Dr Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

Because this seems like a good place to ask this....

Is Grave of the Fireflies really as mentally traumatising as everyone says it is?

You didn't like it? I thought it showed just how easy it was for men to lose their innocence in Vietnam. Much like Platoon did. And Apocalypse Now showed how insane they could go before the end...

Baraka. A life changing event.
may i suggest a acompanied with some marijuana.

good movies that screwed with my mind are:
- Fight Club (i wish i could erase this from my memory and watch it again for the first time)
- Donnie Darko
- Mulholland Drive

I can't say a film has affected me that way no...A song maybe, but not a film. Lot have appealed to my male side though. Especially Lord of the Rings.

no it was good but thinking of micheal j.fox as a movie star is funny as was senn penns performance

Pulp Fiction still has influence in things like lifestyle and freedom.

Scarface ... hehe, influences my clothing style... in a way ;)

Star Wars had great effect on me... for years. That's over now, but still like it. No more effect here.

There's a lot more, but the ones above came to my mind at once.

Donnie Darko, just made me change in terms of attitude...
Also makes me think I'm going to end up making a choice in life where it could mean my death.

And The Matrix, just made me think that WHAT IF...we really are in a dream world?

After i saw Starwars, and relised the story about the family i started thinking about it, this trilogy really got my heart. I remember i allmost began to cry because i wasnt a jedi which i really had wanted to be.
But i was about 12-13 then but still i love Starwars, i dont see it as a movie i see it as something else

After watching star wars... everybody wants to be a jedi. :(

And about the American History X comment, this film affected me too. I had quiete a racist friend at the time and his dumbassness sorta rubbed off in small pieces... but after watching this film, i really realised how rediculous he was. great film :) and a superb ending.
