Man this one looks good!!! New MMORPG from Square. Looks like it's gonna be pay to play, tho...wonder how much it'll be a month. I looked over the site but couldn't find anything about it.

Also, anyone know when the editor for Halo PC is coming out?

The first month is free and then its 12$ a month after that (or something like that). MMORPG aren't exactly my cup of tea, so I won't be getting it, although it looks to be the most promising new one of recent years.

I hope FF XII is kick-ass game with a revoltuionary fighting system, intead of just another derivative....but I doubt that will happen.

It does look good :) ... a must for all FF fans \o/

The FF series has lost it's way recently, the best being FF6 (imo of course) Hopefully this will breath some much needed new life into the FF world.

I was in the beta (hence my avatar), it's so-so.. pretty fun, not PvP though (although I think they might add it at a later date.. maybe.. hopefully)

The MMORPG I'm REALLY looking forward to is WoW.. that looks nice

I have been following it for a few weeks now. Its gonna be $12 dollars a month + $1 for every additional charecter (first one is free with $12).

This game does look really good, though its not going to have battle cut scenes which made me mad at first, but still seems cool. Check out this site www.shadow-dragons.com for diffrent job/subjobs and tons of other info.

This game is comeing out either the 28th or 29th of this month.

SOTBguild.com check it :)

I'v got the benchmark for it and the little chipmonk things put me off, to be honest it just looks a little childish and crap.

Shuzer,

How do the battles work? Do you get gil and experience per battle? Do you see your own personal battles or is it more like Diablo2 with monsters visible all over the screen?

Are the magic spells good? Good animation and CG? Is there a single player too?

Does it follow the FF theme well?

I was really drawn to this game at first, but it seems to be more geared toward family play, which I wouldn't mind if I had children that were old enough to enjoy this type of game. Also Dark Age of Camelot is taking up almost all of my gaming time at the present moment. Out of all the MMORPG's that I've played this one feels the most solid. Other games have felt glitchy and not very well thought out.

I'm also very excited about WoW. I've loved every PC game that Blizzard has put out. It's dissapointing that it is going to be be pay2play, but obviously that's something I'm willing to do if the game lives up to the hype. There is also another MMORPG being developed by a group of people who left Blizzard right after they put out Warcraft 3. This game will NOT be following the pay2play business model. Meaning, you buy it once and you won't ever have to pay to play it online. I have believed that this is possible for a while, even though other companies say it's not. Of course they're going to tell you that you need to pay to play their games, this is how they draw even more money from you! I hope the game comes out and sells millions of copies, sure they might not make as much money as the other companies, but they really are thinking about the customers first.

You apparently dont have the slightest clue how much money MMO's cost to keep up. Just paying the Game Master to do their job, and paying engineers to keep the servers from crashing. I mean, of course they make money on it, but the P2P feature is definatly needed for a good MMO to succeed.

And the only reason DAoC is so solid is because it has been out for 2 years so far... give any mmo that long and they will be that solid also.

Battles work exactly like all other MMORPGs, you select an enemy, pick your action (attack, steal, spells, etc)..

The spell animations are great, and the CG cutscenes (although I only saw the intro.. dunno if there was more in the beta) was very nice looking..

Nope, no single player, MMORPG :)

And yes, it follows the FF theme very well, it feels like an FF game the first battle you get into. Also, when you gain a level, there's the classic battle victory music to listen to

Ugh... I wish Square would stop with all these damn spin-offs, re-hashes and waves of half-assed Final Fantasys. But I guess since millions of people are willing to blindly buy any game with the words "Final Fantasy" in the title, they would rather do that than focus on making a few great ones.

Well, I've heard it's the best in the series since VII, but I don't know, I haven't played it yet. Has anyone else played it? I'm having trouble finding reviews...

I wish IGN would review it already...

Its hella fun compared to other MMORPGs that ive played. Most Ive played loss my intrest realllyyy quick, they have no sense of style or story that keeps me intrested but this one does. I dont know of anyone who is reviewed it so your just gonna have to wait, I personally would give it a 8.5 or 9 outta 10.

Maybe its just me, i love like that epic feeling the music and atmosphere gives you, it adds so much to it compared to the other MMO games ive played: Planetside (where is everybody..), Everquest(omg yippy another level/item/spell..), and Asherons Call 2(omg im bored..).

I agree... I have been playing it for a while now... Have a lvl 17 Monk :)

Its really fun if you like MMO's tona better than even DAoC :)

PLay it NOWWWW I COMMAND IT!!!

Only MMORPG I plan on getting is WoW.. I'll pay for that, it looks really good.. plus, I'm a Blizzard fanboy :)

i love the FF series (FF7 being my fav tho the others all come in a close second... cept maybe FF8 i think it sucked) but i can not afford to pay a monthly fee of 12 dollars on top of my ISP fee and everything else that the neccessities required for something called life.

does that make me any less of a fan? *shrug* hopefully not, either way i never have and probably never will (unless i win the lotto :p) play a pay to play game..

FF3 (6, depends how you look at it I guess :)) definitely was the best FF game. I still have FF3, haven't played it in years, though.

ff3 was amazing... so was ff7... amazing... simply...

But FFXI is awsome also... very time consuming, yes, but fun none the less.
