I got FFXI last year on the day it came out and i played it all the way until May, but then i stopped becuase it got to repeative. It took forever to level up, You fought the same monsters over and over and over again, and the only way to really advance was to group, which wasnt exactly the easiest thing. So now i was thinking of renewing my subscription for a month, but before i spent some money i thought ill ask you all. Does anyone still play Final Fantasy XI, and has anything changed since May, and has it got any better? Thanks in advance.

err...yes...also not played it.. I like Office Depot..

I quit playing Final Fantasy games after FFX. They kept getting shorter and shorter. It took me a whole rental just to get to the end of the first of the three CDs of FF7... whereas I beat FFX in one rental with time to spare. Have they improved since then?

Hey, you wouldn't happen to know a guy named Ford Prefect, would you? :E

Uh Yeah FFXI takes about 1000 hours to beat, or more, try beating that in one rental

They added Balista, PVP or more like 30 vs 30. There is an expansion due out fall i think. Chains of Promathia. Sopose to have new maps, missions, and items.

Is the PvP just like everything else in the game where you have to be a certain level before you can do it?

Atm the Final Fantasy XI community is massive. With the release of it in europe its going to just get bigger. It already has 1,000,000 active acounts and thats only from Japan and America. I can't wait tbh. I want to play World Of Warcrafft as well. But thats set to release in December some time. Final Fantasy XI is released in September.

Hmm. It is pretty much Nation vs Nation, ex. San D'oria vs Bastok

There are different lvl restrictions, sometimes its 60, somtimes its 30. And its more then just PVP, kinda of like CTF.. but not really, like there is a main goal then just killing other people... I havnt tried it for myself yet, but i heard some good comments about it.

meh, it doest matter anymore, i just tryed to reactivate my account but its been cancelled for 4 months starting in august so i cant play unless i buy a new copy, and theres no way in hell im doing that.

heheh, i must be the only person here who knows what that means (apart from you) :p

IMO WOW is the only MMORPG worth paying for, and all i have seen is screenshots :)
..errr, and read the entire site, which is all the information you need to know about classes etc... and i have got over 20 movies on my system or something... and i have been visiting forums regularly... and i have seen about 300 screenshots...

/me crosses fingers and hopes i have got into the european beta

I played FFXI for a month and had a blast, i got it in may 2004 i think. But it took to long to lvl up and was the same thing over and over agin. Although the different worlds were fun to explore, since it was my first MMORPG(or whatever)

Bah Suicide42 , it hurts me that you don't think I understand what that meant :(

FF games should be single player only :(. Unistall, buy diablo 2, install diablo 2, play non stop all week. :D

Bah, you're not the only one who've read that fantastic book. :p

I have FF XI, and I'm enjoying it. Once you get to lvl 20 its great.

Hmmm...can anyone give me a world pass to the Ragnarok server? Ive been trying for about an hour but couldnt get in. Ill pay you back the gil once i get it.

I got Final Fantasy XI and I really enjoyed it up until about level 30. Then it just got so tedious waiting around to form a group (you can end up waiting for hours on end). Trouble is, this is the only way to level so it really is horrrible. Plus when you get to a really crowded area like 'Qufim Island' or whatever its called, it gets a bit laggy and annoying to play. Tetra Master was great though  I quit it in the end.

Can someone please let me have a worldpass to the ragnarok server....all last night i was trying to to get on it but couldnt, i promise you i will pay you back the gill and give you a extra 200 for getting it.

There are too many Final Fantasies....too many to keep track of. I say they stop eating off of the games name and make it into a new series. The only one I ever played was FFVII. And I was like, "dang, this really sucks" and so I returned it the next day. Of course, this was the first RPG I had ever played, and it really turned me off of RPGs and anything with turn-based fighting. Thanks final fantasy seven! without your suckiness I might have ended up liking something as crappy as an RPG!
