Ah... my favourites are FF6 and 7, however, I've noticed a few similarities from the games...

Get magecite and level it up, (ff6)
Get materia and level it up (ff7)

Psycho clown general betrays his leader and takes over his empire, and destroys the world. (ff6)
Psycho high ranking officer betrays his leader and takes over his empire, and destroys the world. (ff7)

The imperial soldiers look alot like the shin-ra soldiers, just brown and green instead of blue.

Both are set in an older time, but with highly advanced technology owned by the empire in either game.

SIMILARITIES? OR THE SAME GAME?

Just similarities.

Edit: I disliked FF8, it had an okay but not a hooking story, just the graphics were better... I got bored with it quick

People have reported alot of incompatibility issues with XP and the FF7 demo (I have the full FF7 PC, and it doesn't work without a retail patch someone put together, no demo patch), not sure about the FF8 demo, but there ya go I run 98 if I wanna play FF7, haven't tried the demo on XP though

HEY! I'm new to PS2... i don't know! ... didn't have to be mean!

sorry, wasn't intending on coming off as mean.. just that FF7 was so much better compared to FF8 that im surprised u hadn't already gone through a thread of both these games.. especially FF7 cause honestly, its really good

i don't know u well hunter, but i'd be surprised if u played both games and did not end up liking FF7 more, if not thinking its one of the best FF games ever..

well, we should get to know each other.... i'm thehunter1320, or Marty in the real world. I live in Ohio... and i REALLY like video games! I also have a girlfriend and i'm under investigation for calling 911 from a payfone at my school (yes, that is still going on :hmph:... damn fone nazis...) and was suspended for getting 2 detentions in a day.... but i really think they just wanted to punish me for the 911 thing... :hmph: school... nazis.... i like RPGs, i have a gaming quality PC, a PS2, and a Cube... and i bring the blue sparks when throwing down in double dash, Ladies... (check the link w/ jesus' view on christmas to understand)... Kingdom Hearts and Anime make me all fuzzy inside... and i'm addicted to mt. dew and AMP energy drink... so, how about you? ... oh, and i;m sarcastic alot of the time

Heh... I dialed 911 at my school once, too. I never got caught though.

It was funny, my teacher made this big announcement to the class about it and my friends were like, "Dude, wasn't that you?" and I was like, "NO! I dialed 912!"

Heheh... Good times, good times.

Anyway, get the PSX version of FFVII. The graphics will look crappy no matter what but I've heard the music isn't nearly as good for the PC version. And if you absolutely must play it at high resolution, you can simply download a PSX emulator for your computer.
