Finally got Half-life2

I got it for free with my system. they gave me the bronze package. and it downlaoded in under 15 minutes. how is it possable to have the full game in soo little time? I've heard that it's streaming everything in the background. tho I don't know what that means.

I think, it downloads everything that it needs to play at the start, then downloads the later maps etc, while you are playing.

Back in my days...18th november when i finally installed mine (pfft) you had to download the entire game content before playing! No way does it do it that way now, i will not believe it. How fast is your connection? like 3 mb's or something?

when i recently installed HL1 from steam, it did it in 10 minutes. which was astonishing considering ive got 1Mbps and HL1 is nearly 400MB.

valve have got some magical trick they use i think to quickly get content onto a persons computer, or what Shodan said.

I said I think, not a 100% sure on this, but when I first played half life 2, it was only 78% or somthing like that.
