Still not understanding your comments like this. Most games have almost *no* story. Stalker has tons of background info, a complex plot, fan-written fiction (winners of the fan writing contest will have their stories woven into the game), 8 unique endings depending upon how you play & what level of difficulty you attempt the game, AI stalkers that go about their lives & tasks whether or not you interact with them - and change their behavior based upon what you do inworld...really no point in going on. This game has oodles of story compared with most. You're standing in the forest and yelling to everyone that you see no trees.

And btw, e.g. is an abbreviation for "for example;" you're looking for i.e., "in other words." You're welcome.

STALKER has a freakin' dynamic sun. It moves across the freakin' sky. Can't beat that.

Thanks for the heads up, hadn't seen this yet. Now I have, I love STALKER even more and it has once again managed to shove HL2 down my 'must have' list. Although I get HL2 for free with my Radeon 9600XT, so no harm done

Tbh they're both gonna be awesome games. HL2 looks to have way more detailed NPC's, with what looks to be like an unmatchable face-muscle system. And STALKER has loads of neat stuff.

Well said, I think the word OWNED springs to mind with regard to some people half baked criticisms.

i think stalker looks to be an excellent game. Gothic and Gothic 2 were 2 3rd person wicked rpg slashers.I think its about time for a cool fps rpg

far cry looks really cool, and it will be cool, but it won't last i don't think. something cool in far cry is how the grass flattens after you walk over it. medal of honor Pacific Assault is looking to be a pretty sweet game too. i saw some tech demo's of it, it looks awesome, especially when the guy shoots the water with his machine gun and it makes wicked ripples per bullet.

anyways looks to be some pretty cool games coming out. the only one i plan to actually buy is half life 2, but if i hear the multiplayer is really good in any of the others i might buy those as well =D

i am of the opinion that Sn7 actually made the mistake of thinking 'e.g.' was the abbreviated form of "ergo", and was infact going after that 'therefore' feeling. confusing the abbrevaition of "exempli gratia" with the non-existant abbreviation of "ergo" seems a more plausible case to me, e.g., "cogito, e.g. sum".. see, even rene descartes can make a faux pas (or as i like to say, "false not")! that descartes.. what an asshole.

I think it looks nice and I'm sure will be a good game. Cant be any worse than SWG...probably the most tedious game in the world.
