Download old freeware games and play them like hell. Like, Mine Bombers, Tappo 2, Wings, Slicks´n´Slide, Dogs, Triplane, Happyland Adventures and stuff Great games, everyone.

And when you are bored with them, play Half-Life 1. Then play OP4 and Blue Shift, then start with the mods. Azure Sheep, They Hunger, Counter-Life, the list goes on. After that, its time for classic games like Doom 1&2, Duke Nukem 3D, Starcraft and Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn.
Gonna be a heck of a 8 days

Or buy RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, but when you finally know where all the buttons are and how the camera works smooth those 8 days are already over. Or you can download some demos of other games that are close to release. I had (and still have) lots of fun with the Flat Out demo. It's just a racegame with realistic looking damage and highly interactive environments but it's so fun.

Heheh, a friend of mine has a similar problem- even though the college literally employs him as tech support, his access is restricted.

At one point he was repeatedly patronised, because they'd convinced themselves that a client-side port tweaking program he owned was in fact a virus that was port scanning :|

Maybe he can pass the next week or so planning a spate of unpleasant murders.
