Finidng chat logs in AIM

Don't think it does. Gaim does, with a plugin.

It doesn't, you can use deadaim or myshaim, or trillian or gaim.

If you havent enabled the option then I don't think it does for privacy reasons. Why do you need them or can't you say?

I think they are in a folder within Documents and Settings, although I'm not totally sure

If aim does have a logging feature (which I'm 90% sure it doesn't) you can bet it's not enabled by default. If you know you didn't enable it then it's not logged.

You have to manually save the conversations. Or you can just hit windows sign + F and search for AIM and see if it has any log files in the aim folders.
