Firefly (wheddons supposed flop)..

.. anyone else seen the TV series created by Joss Wheddon (after Angel & Buffy), that Fox cancelled after only 10 episodes? It was reccomended to me by a friend and I have to say it's very good (which isnt suprising since Fox is quick to cancel good shows). Infact it's done so well in DVD sales that a movie is being made with the same premise called 'Serenity'.

I'd be happier if smaller networks learned to pick these shows up immedietly so they can continue making them. While they don't get enough for Fox, they certainly would be a good addition to any of the cable channels.

took me a while to realise the captain in the show is Private James Ryan from the film Saving Private Ryan.

The Private Ryan from the title of that film is played by Matt Damon. The guy from firefly is the guy they think is the ryan they are after but its not. Its the scene where they tell him that his brothers are dead and he breaks down before they figure out thats its not him and he is lead away. In total he's in the film for about 2 mins.
