anyone get a hold of it yet? i dont have it yet because the servers are bogged down on mozilla and spreadfirefox. i cant even access the area to download. though i wouldn't imagine it would be a huge change from RC2

The following file may or may not be ff3
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=951K7X6T

I mean that, I downloaded it from a link at the haus, but it may also be just rc 3
named ff3. In any case seeing as the official mirrors will be up in a few hours I see no
point in trying this file out. But if you're a risk taker and like living on the edge by all
means.

We're not quite ready yet!

We're just as excited as you are for our upcoming release, but we're still putting the finishing touches on Firefox 3: preparing the new mozilla.com website, getting our severs ready for downloads, and doing our final pre-launch checks. You can follow our progress if you'd like!

The files in this directory are - for now - only meant to be used by our testers. Downloading them directly can harm our ability to distribute Firefox efficiently, and will also not be counted as part of our attempt to set a Guiness World Record for the most software downloads in a day.

If you'd like to be notifed the minute that we launch, please go to sign up for Download Day. Or just head over to getfirefox.com on Tuesday, June 17th after 10am PDT.

I dont know if my mind is just playing tricks, but it seems to load pages significantly faster.

Assuming you have FF3 now? Or are you just talking about the mozilla page?

First one :D. I had the newest beta version out, and I just got FF3 from mozilla.com. The final version seems much faster.

Yeah I'd have to agree with you, everything does seem to load much faster. Though the Add-Ons seem to be a bit buggy for me. Still, FF3 is not too bad at all, loving it.

I hated the address bar, I keep mine nice and small with 7 sites that I regularly visit. Don't need every link I pick up from this forum or a google search in there messing shit up.

Back to FF2 now.

I think one of the coolest add-ons that I just discovered under the 'recommended' is PicLens, its a pretty cool unique add-on. Its visually stimulating.

How does it mess anything up?

Unless you just mean it makes it look messy, then I agree.

But its so damn useful that I dont care.

How do you add tags to sites? It mentions it on the Mozilla site but I couldn't be bothered to try finding out there because it took 5 minutes to load up the main page. :\

'splain how this unorganized mess is useful?

Anytime you want to get back to a site, but cant remember what it was, you can just type in a keyword and it finds all the pages you were at that had it. For example I just typed in 8800gt in my address bar and it brought up 3 newegg.com pages that I had been to while looking at those video cards.

Is that Downthemall add-on really worth it?

What the hell. After I installed it a window came up saying thanks for downloading release candidate 3. Is this the correct version>?

To get it quickly just perform a sneaky 93mb on the download link.

Where did you download it from?

Flashget is the best download manager.

Do most of the old addons still work?

I can't install this unless Firebug, Fast Video Download and Adblock Plus work...

Installation path: E:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 5\

Wat?

Downloaded from the official site.

I feel this too. Especially noticeable on Zero Punctuation which used to load like ass for me.

And Adblock Plus is working fine for me, as are all my old addons.

The download file and agreement both just say FF3. I bet they just forgot to change the install path from the RC.

downloading it now

what? the awesome bar? I never have to type in an address/website twice. whatever I visit more frequently stays at the top. I love it

I would download it if I could actually download it.

I have internet explorer so I don't have to wait a huge long time for a download.

wait.

I got it on my second try

by the way, you can choose where to install it, but if you had a beta installed it will install there. you see it uses your old user data.

I was using RC3 and I installed FF3 over top, and this is the preferred way to install it. The installer inspects your old version and merges it so you keep your old settings/user data

I don't see how they can make this thing any faster. It goes so fast I saw the future.

(lol)

Back to FF2 now.

Whether you're joking or not, I can't believe people think this is a viable option. It's completely different from an operating system, this is a web browser! The update is just that an update and it's the same reason why people still use ****ing Internet Explorer 6! 40% of people! It's just ridiculous!

Why? I don't want them advertising their pants search engine/bookmarks/etc in my address bar. No "go" button when a page 404's, just the bookmark star. Crappy new font in forms, maybe fixable with a theme.

Ugh, need an adblock plugin that is compatible with FF3 now.

The back button is quite distracting as it is so large in comparison with the others. Draws my gaze too much.
