This thread in the "Sourceworld" forum displays wrong. The large images in the first post cause the text to extend beyond my screenspace. Firefox doesnt draw the horizontal scroll bar to allow me to see the rest of the text.

It only happens for the first pos, the one with the images. (wich I must say is exellent, because other forums I use, such an instance causes every thread displayed to "strech".)

It works fine in IE.

Can we have a screenshot please?

Attached ;). You can see the text goes off the screen, and a horizontal scroll bar isn't created. This only way I could get it to scroll sideways was to use the radial menus scroll feature - this didn't work well, as it would simply push the screen back to the "un-horizontal-scrolled" state.

I'll get Munro to look into it for you.

There we go...had both IE and firefox open and got confused...
I also attached a second screenshot to show how the reply box is displayed, its never caused a problem...it just looks odd.

Also, the "Manage attachments" Button doesnt do anything in firefox. (This was the first time Ive ever tried to use it)

Yeah, i will double check my pop-up blocker....thats probably the problem for the attachments dialogue.

I see Firefox 0.9 has been released - this might fix it. Pity I can't test, as the images aren't showing up now (in IE, red box).

Also, Parasite - sorry for beating you to the post :p.

yeah mine has the same issue, the screens cause the text the overshoot, it doesn't seem to have sideways scrolling

Yeah, it cutting off larger screenshots like that is annoying. And I'd never noticed how the reply screen is off center like that... heh, that's strange.

Yeah, also the advance reply views sometimes displayes wrong too. I'll grab a screenshot the next time I see it.

Simple solution:

Download Internet Explorer :)

We have the proof we need, Munro is in coherance(sp) with the devil!11

New versions of Firefox won't fix this. The problem is vB's silly tables and, apparently, some form of standards-incompatibility because of how IE handles scrolling.

I think this may be caused by vB's lack of height and width properties on images. It simply dumps in the html image tag with the link to the pic without telling the browser how big it is. So if this theory is correct, firefox doesn't use a horizontal scrollbar because it doesn't know the pic is bigger than the window.

I haven't tested this theory at all though, it's just a hunch. It won't help in any way either. Fenric should just stop breaking the layout with huge pics :p

As for the reply misalignment, it's a vBulletin problem again. It uses javascript for the reply area because of the mode switching. Apparently it uses it in a bad way. This one may be fixable, but it'd probably be more trouble than it's worth.

Summary: Can't fix it.

meh, Id rather have a small glitch like that then use IE.

On the contrary, I had this issue with images on vBullentin forums under FireFox 0.8
I updated my Firefox to 0.9 last night, and I no longer have these issues

 But... but... how!?!?11/ *TGB's world collapses*

Gonna grab 0.9 right now.

edit: Right. It fixes the scrollbar problem, but not the reply window one (hah!). Ignore the scrollbar rant in my last post.

There's an INI hack you can do to sort out reply boxes. It's got to be on Google somewhere. :)

Btw, StarMonkey, could you make /me work again?
