Firework Store explosions

Well, see this fits into the "brave but stupid" category. If you were standing 50 feet away from 20,000 lb of explosives about to go off, would you run or stay there and film?

Plus there was an earlier, smaller explosion that knocked him over, so it's not like he didn't know the danger he was in.

But its still cool he died , am I rite?

Plz see my :' I hate "Death is cool d00d" teenyboppers' section.

that was insane... admittedly the first explosion knocks him over but how could u even guess the size of that final boom. From what the cameraman sees, i'd agree it looks like a safe distance from where he's standing. Who could've known how massive that explosion would be.

bleh. can someone PM me the link please? I'd like to see this.

I watched it, and it was indeed the fireworks disaster that happened in my country Holland. It happend in the city of Enschede, it happened on the 13th of may 2000 and killed 22 people and destroyed 300-400 houses. But as far as I know, the cameraman wasn't killed, I very much doubt it would even be shown on tv when that would have happened.

Some photo's:

PS: the guy on the end says:
"You can clearly see in slowmotion how powerfull the last explosion was, the roofs were literally blown of the houses."

The lawsuit against the owner of the storage just ended I believe. They storage contained more fireworks than was allowed.

EDIT: there's more footage of the disaster, I'm looking for it.

I've seen this at Ogrish before... Pretty fascinating how big that blast is. Oh and by the way. I think the cameraman lived. Atleast that's what they said on the ogrish forums.
