Because of Steam, when a person goes into a Netcafe to play Counterstrike, he can log onto his own account and play the game that he already owns on his home computer. However, for Steam and Counterstrike and Halflife to be on the computers at the Netcafe, the Netcafe owners also need to own a copy of Steam. This means, to play Counterstrike at a Netcafe, you must not only have to buy a copy of Counterstrike/Halflife for yourself, but the Netcafe also needs to purchase a copy as well for their computers, now supposedly, Valve are also forcing a licensing fee on Netcafe owners. Now is this fair?

Customer needs to own a copy of Counterstrike to play at a Netcafe over Steam.
The Netcafe needs to own a copy of Counterstrike for it to be used on their computers.
The Netcafe also needs to pay an additional fee as license fee?

not true. read the forums there. mdk30 i think responds to this article and in fact clears up somethings. go read it. As far as i understood, the player doesn't have to own CS to play at netcafe, just the netcafe having a multiple license.

Which is cheaper than having to buy however-many copies of Half-Life...

Ok, i think the guy who wrote the article got the wrong end of the stick.

Wha? I downloaded the Steam installer and CS at my friend's house and I can just login and play it over there.

The one thing I don't like is that you can't have 2 people playing on your account at the same time unless one is playing HL and one is playing CS. (i.e. Me and my bro can't play CS at the same time)

well, i'd suggest both buying hl1 (only $20), but i'd wait now for hl2 and cs:source.
