Yep, i have a 3.3Mbit ADSL connection. Max speed is +-340KB/sec, and i get that with this happy seeder(s..?)

yeah the guy on that site is the only seeder right now i think, but he's on a university connection which is probably a T3 or OC3.

yeah i'm usually faster than that guy with the filerush links, but since this site was down i didn't get to show off my speed. :)

i'm the guy who runs the filerush.com one. i put up new torrents a up to 2 days before the gametorrents one, which usually makes all the difference to most people. I've got 2 seeds always going which can push quite a bit of bandwidth. gametorrents, although they're slow to get new stuff, is sitting on a university connection which is probably a T3 or better, so the bandwidth coming off that is pretty rediculous. If you're trying to get files as fast as possible after they're released, keep checking filerush. if it's been a week or so since a file was released and filerush has 3 or less seeds, if gametorrents has it, go with that one. hope this helps.

OK, sounds interesting. I think I will use the Filerush site and help seeding.

Only my useable upstream bandwidth isn't really the best (max. 128 kbit/s)... :(

Ummm, sorry for the dumb question, but SOMEONE has to ask sometime!
What in the world is "bit torrent"???

I tried the traptown "bit torrent" and it was 61kb! WTF? Is there a program for these or what?!

Plz help,

Thanx festivalman!

So, its something like .jc files for download managers!
Does it work on windows or only linux?!

The thread mentioned above has it for windows, but technically if you go back to the author of bit torrent's home page, he offers the original python source code so it'll work on almost any platform out there. they've already got binaries for linux, os X, windows, sun.. the list goes on.

azzkiker please don't tell me bit torrent is too complicated for you...??? ;)

You only have to download a bit torrent client like "burst!" (Windows program), download the small torrent file from File Rush you want and start downloading. - VERY easy! ;)

Its easy all right!
I got the "PTC" program. its no complicated, kinda slow though.
But, u have to download the bit torrent file and run it and whatever! Why? Just download the full file and off u go! :D

you don't have to run the torrent file. once you've installed a bit torrent client, it automatically brings up the bit torrent client as soon as you hit the torrent file on the web page. no extra steps. btw, here's my experience with filefront 99 percent of the time since we're on the subject:

Your file is being prepared

All public download servers for this file are at capacity.
You can still download this file immediatly via FastPass, on CD, or by trying your download again during non-peak hours; in other words, you're boned!
