I just got home from my first day of school, my last year in high school...for some reason I wanted to post my day...so here goes

1st hour, A+(computer class)-
This is easily my favorite class, all we do is mess around with with computers and mess stuff up(but still a lot of tests from what I hear). I know a lot of people in this class(well, 6...for me that is a lot) and one of them is a girl I work with(1 of 3 girls in the class) that I have liked for a while...but of course I never say anything to her. I am going to try and fix it so I am her partner(everyone gets a partner for a computer to work because there aren't enough for everyone) and I think I have a good chance since I am the only person she knows except these 2 asian girls and they will probably group up with eachother.

2nd hour, English- This class sucked, I only knew one other person and the teacher made us do an oral assignment, it was a poem to help her and the class get to know everyone better. I didn't like the idea of everyone getting to know me...so I BSed the thing and I thought it was hilarious...of course no one else did...so I guess I am just the werid kid in that again...oh well. The teacher assumed I hated English or I am not very good at it, neither are true.

3rd hour, know your rights- I don't know a single person in this class, and there are some really annoying gangstas who never shut up...

4th hour, Math- Didn't know anyone in the class, we had to do a bunch of puzzle/riddle things...the trick math questions. I got them all done and right...except my answers weren't the ones out of the book so they had to be wrong...I hate those things.

5th hour, Political Science- I don't know anyone in this class either, sounds like a fun class but full up preppy girls who never shut up.

6th hour, Physics- This class shouldn't be too bad either but I only know 1 other person in the class and he doesn't like to talk to me...guess he thinks he is too cool.

That is all I have to say, I don't know why I posted just felt like I should.

sucks that u dont know much people in ur classes..except ur first class.. but i guess thats good so u can make new friends..schools starts next week for me..dammit

#1 reason of mine for taking AP classes. in the words of a very wise man, they will be flipping my hamburgers and serving my fries piping hot. so never fear!

Also, I don't know what to do about the girl in first hour that I like, there is another girl that likes me I think....but I don't really like her...hmm what are some good ways to make sure she knows I don't like her?

Is your math class really just called math? :O

No, it is Integrated math 2...so I am a litte behind in math...thats what I get for not doing homework I guess...even though I did good on the tests.

Haha I don't have school! I finished high school when I was 15 :D

Wow, I usualy stay away from AP classes...because I don't want to volunteer for extra work. I have a pretty hard classes but nothing like that, Physics and Math should be the only homework I get that I can't finish in class.

i want to get as many college creds as possible, so i can get through with ROTC as fast as possible. im anxious to get out of here :). also it gives me a better chance of getting into west point, or annapolis.

whats AP classes? Are you guys doing the US equivalent of A levels or GCSE's ?
*confused Englishman*

ap stands for advanced placement. it gives you college credits while your still in high school. i.e. you get through with college quicker.

First day of school...
My first day of school doesn't start until the 9th of September. Man, that is drawing closer and closer. Well, I gotta go to school.
Here is what I took...

C.P. Spanish III
Honors Algebra II
C.P. U.S. History II
C.P. English III
Italian I
C.P. Chemistry
Gym/Health
Lunch

BTW: I am a Junior in High School.

BTW2: Is my signature too much? Ya know, overdone?

Yes.

And AP classes, in my experience... or second-hand experience, since I was smart and never took one... are rubbish. It's basically preparing for a test and getting college credit for it if you're lucky... which may or may not be transferrable. Now, I took some college classes in high school that I'm happy I did, but none of that shit.

yeah i was thinking about that, so i talked to my counselor who showed me a list of uni's that the credit would be tranferrable to. plus, while im at highschool anyway, i might as well learn as much as i can for free. ap US history was a no brainer for me because last year i took regular world history, and it was just.. insulting. honestly im sick of being around stupid people. thats my major motivation.

We only have Spanish and French, and all the teachers are effing insane.

Yup. For some odd reason, Spanish is easy for me. And, I took Italian, because I had not taken any Fine Art Electives so my guidance counselor signed me up for it. I don't think Italian is much of a difference from Spanish, anyway.

Haha, since when is a language a fine art? :P Orchestra was mine...

I took two years of German... hated it... especially my first year 'cause I had a bitch-teacher who was more interested in arguing with people in her class, calling us lazy, and making us do stupid skits than actually teaching us... oh, and don't forget the CULTURAL VIDEOS! EXCITING!

Yeah, I know. That's what I said.
But I asked: That's not much different from Spanish, is it?
And she said: No, not really.
So I ended up taking it.

Never had to watch those cultural videos. Are they that bad?

i hate those cultural videos. god. from like the early '90s with bright orange pants and stuff.

what instrument did you play in orchestra?

As a freshman I signed up for french, mainly because I dont like spanish, and my family was gonna tour england and france.
Of course I wasnt put in to french they gave me spanish, why? Ill never know..

I played the cello from when I was in the 5th grade to the end of high school.

All we did in my spanish class was projects, skits, and a ton of oral exams...all infront of the class. I don't really enjoy doing speeches infront of the class...

CP German III - Fun class, I've had the same teacher for 3 years, which has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Art 1-2 - ****ing awesome class. First day: We drew random scribbles on a paper and got an A. The guy is an awesome artist, kick ass class. Really fun too.

CP English 5-6 - Teacher is funny as hell. My last name is "Brewer" and he calls me random beer names. "Hey Miller" or "Samual Adams, be quiet" or "Hi Bud"

*Lunch* - Yeah...

CP Biology - Teacher is some slow redneck. Doesn't make it interesting or fun, oh well. At least this girl I like is in there. I carried her books for her. :)

Algebra 2 (CP) - I SWEAR TO GOD, THE TEACHER IS SQUIDWARD FROM SPONGE BOB SQUAR PANTS. EXACT VOICE OMFG. The first time he spoke on the first day I started cracking up and people were staring at me. But I don't think anyone knows why. (Which is good, because I would have felt really bad)

AP US History - Funny teacher. Makes stuff interesting. Ironically, all we've talked about is EUROPEAN history. (Portugal, explorers in africa, Spain and all their $$$, Sir Francis Drake, pirate, etc etc)

As it goes I just started a new job 2day as a I.T Officer for a gas company, went ok 2, just doing some induction thing.

School started two weeks ago. I'm in senior year of high school. It's not fun.

My schedule:
AP Spanish 5
AP Government
AP English 4
PreAP Physics (yargh)
IB Higher Level Math
Comp Sci

So far, the only class I like is Comp Sci and maybe English. My English teacher likes my writing and I have no idea why. My math class is hard. My physics class has this group project right now and I'm the only person in my group that has actually done anything; my teacher suggested kicking the other 2 people out of my group and turning myself into a 1-member group...... My government class has a lot of group work that always takes up way too much time. Spanish class is ok. My school offers Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, and Italian, and then there's this "Cultures" class that certain people have to take.

Over here in Canada, we start our school after labour day. However since I'm off to University this year, I don't start until the 6th. And my classes don't get serious until the 13th. Lucky me. :)

I'm not sure how your system works. Do you guys take 6 classes in total for the whole year, or just for half?

haha....skool starts sep. 8 for me and ends june 15.... canadas the best

im not talkin about collage tohugh ..... im talkin about high skool and elementry

yeah i know, thats our schedule too.

Started school last week. Going ok... (Average school stress level)
Heh, it's pretty funny how my Honors Algebra 2 class has nothing but Sophomores in it. (Including me :D) It's a Junior course...

I am also taking advanced programming with Visual Studio.NET.
Very fun class. There are only like 5 people in it, (The intro to visual studio class kind of filters out all the idiots) and they are all "geeks" like me, watch anime and play DDR and know alot about computers.

FUN. +5.

Also taking a Corel Draw course... I hate it how in these computer classes they act like you have never touched a computer. I mean, most of the people that take the class haven't, but still. They shouldn't be there then.

And I hate it when teachers use the wrong names for things involving computers. Happens ALL the time.

"Okay, now log in to Internet Explorer..."

And they are so dang protective of them. Every bleeping computer is the building has a 60hz refresh rate. It is so annoying. And they don't let you touch anything.

They disabled right clicking on the desktop and windows explorer.

Bess (kid safe site blocker) is so annoying it's not even funny.
You can't even use google image search.

Well. There ya go.

Speeking of programing classes, I took a java class, the only problem was the teacher.
No real programing experience
Learned some java over the summer
Made us use note pad to program the first month
Constantly had to be corrected by a couple kids in the class that thought it would be more advanced.

My school is the home of the incompitiant.

German is NOT a cool language. I had to learn it for 5 years...it was the worst part of school.

I start my second year of college on Monday..and I am only doing 2 subjects because theres nothing else decent to take and I dont want to go to Uni. So I will have 2 hours max of learning each day....such bliss.
