Hi all. I took up drawing for the first time a couple of days ago. Just sketched a few things. This is my first 'real' drawing. Hope you all like it. Critizism welcome. :)

Can I possible critisize it? Except the eyes aren't proportionally straight (eyes are impossible to get right, unless you're Leonardo De Vinci). The mouth is too flat and it so looks like bruce willis from Die Hard... but meh

Yeah. The mouth sucks in my opinion. But the goggles are supposed to be at an awkward angle like that. :)

Ah! You should have shaded it better, that's all

I have a hard time with mouths (plural?). They're either barely visible or stick out like a sky scraper.

*Edit*

Here's the original.

I need to lighten his left cheek. And make the area around the lips darker. I think I need way more contrast.

Druckles n peeps are right one thing i like tho is the simplicity of the hair :P, it fits really well and looks right :P did u use a pencil really lighty to get that effect ( beefy pencil ) or ddi u shade it like that ?

looks good, but even out the mouth a bit, make his ears more elongated and not stick out quite as much.

On the hair: I just used a normal pencil, and tiltet it so it was flat. Normally on all the other shading I used my finger and smeared the graphite around, i just didn't on the hair and it actually looked right. lol.

Unfortunately, I can't draw the mouth right! Or the ears. No matter what I do it seems to have a cartoony outline to them. I lightened the left cheek (his right) a bit because that's how it is in the picture. And I made the nose a little more defined. I'll try and scan that and upload it whenever my Step-Dad lets me use the scanner.

*Edit*

I just realised I've been babying this thread. Which in my opinion is spamming so I'm gonna try and not reply until there have been at least few responses. :E

*Edit2*

I just realised that in the picture his hair isn't the same color through and through. In the top left there's a dark shadow so I'm gonna try and put that in there.

I don't think its possible to even have a first drawing after the age of 3. And looking at this, its obviously not your first drawing. You can't know how to shade without having a lot of practice.
It's really good. I'm not sure if its just bad compression, but the shading could use more contrast. Everything is a bit skewed but thats hard to get perfect. Good drawing.

So it is! :o...
Knew it looked like something out of Die Hard

The chin's too square

I think his head is very cylinder-shaped :D

Yeah. I thought I over-did it a bit, but then looking at his real photo, it kind of is...

It looks good for a newbei.

Actually it looks good even for an experienced artist.
