Tell him that we pity everyone who has had to grow up in a world where Sonic the Hedgehog is a 'me too!' exercise in mundane 3D Platforming Though to be fair, I've been on a nostalgia trip the last few days and have come to conclusion that a LOT of (2D) games I played in the early years are utter trash, and the better ones are hideously flawed. I care even less about what the media is saying about the link between video games and violence now. Jumping Boulders in Wonder Boy makes we want to murder people in a way that giving me a virtual gun will never, ever manage.

I think things are going to swing back sooner or later. We're on the verge of a 2D animation renaissance at least. If that gives us a single High-Definition game that's just like playing a 2D planed visual masterpiece, I'll be very happy.

That was in 1979

We were probably the first people in our town to own a computer.
