First Official Fable Review!!!

Sounds like the game is a little short, which I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. I was thinking it would be bad but now I will actually have time to play through it several times with different characters. I know I wasted my whole summer last year playing through KOTOR 3 times.

well, i think most people will get about 50 hours out of this game, one time bad, and one time good, and i think 50 hours of gameplay is worth my 50 dollars.

It sounds pretty neat to me :)

I'm a little dissapointed in the games length, though. Fable has always been portrayed as an epic adventure. Anyhoo - the reviews make it sound very promising.

(2 of my mates worked on Fable - so I should realy support them in buying the game anyways)

Not really my game this "fable".
I've been skimming headlines and the name came up a few times.
Isn't it some sort of rpg-ish thing with a good/bad dude? Should be a nice gimmik for all those 20 xbox owners :p

Wow...so much ignorance...anyways Fable is kind of like KOTOR but with more options. And I think all 15 million xbox owners will enjoy this master peice.

hehe - well, there's no quality pc rpgs competing for my time at the mo (at least not recent titles) so this should cater for my needs nicely.

"Isn't it some sort of rpg-ish thing with a good/bad dude?"

What will those crazy rpg developers think of next? :) Adding role play in a rpg - what a gimmik :p

In my opinion RPG's began on the PC and that's where they should stay.

First Person Shooters started on the console and that is where they should stay(I think Contra 2 has a little first person action in it...or maybe it was 3rd person...oh well).

How did you put it? So much ignorance

Been reading up some more about fable, and i've come to the conclusion that it's definately not my game. I enjoy RPG's in the Zelda sence, but anything to RPGish just isn't my thing.

But hey, if it floats your boat :D

That Team Xbox review is WAAAAY too long.

EDIT: I just noticed the IGN review is 8 pages as well! What ever happend to brevity? Being concise is a virture people!

Doesn't look very good to me. Then again I'm not a huge RPG fan either.

Contra 2 was 3rd person. :p

...and FPS did start on PCs. (wolfenstein 3D).

I think Fable being an Xbox game is putting alot of ppl off. I'm sure if this was a pc release the response would be very different.

Fable looks cool but I just don't have that kind of time for big games like that anymore... I spend all my time making models for HL2 mods and playing Doom 3 and playing Red Orchestra and playing CS Source and playing BF1942 and oh the list goes on PC games just dominate on console so much...

-merc

the screenshots on the teamxbox site look pretty ugly :x
with this game the first screens released yeaaaars ago looked awsome but the screenshots kept gettting uglier and uglier
:hmph:

From the IGN review:

Spending more time in the sun tans you a bit (this is more of that pasty British tan than a real American tan)

HAHA! Take that you british bastards. j/k

I said I would buy an XBox when Fable came out back when it was called Project Ego. Then I saw the recent videos and thought it looked pretty lameish, but these reviews give it a good score. Not sure if I want to waste a birthday present on an XBox... mehhhhhhhhhhhhh.

...... and PES 4!

(KOTOR 2 will be better on the Xbox too :) )

This game ever gonna be 'ported' to PC or Gamecube? I remember reading about it loooong ago, and it sounded good...

@ Gamecube: LOL!!!! n3wb
@ PC: no, contract restrictions

/me shakes fist at microsoft and continues to play Ninja Gaiden

Hmmm having read the IGN review...I'm slightly disappointed in some of the changes they made (not the things they had to take out).

The fact that there are only about 30 sidequests is kinda weak if you ask me. Only about as much as KOTOR I'd say. The fact that if the optional sidequest character (someone you have to save) dies, you immediately fail...you don't lose renown or anything...just retry. I wish that your failures would affect renown more. The fact that they're saying it's too easy...that annoys me a bit.

I really hope there's a sequel. Adding in all the elements they were forced to omit this time around and some elements they just seem to have messed up on.

Don't get me wrong...I'm still extremely excited for this game...just after reading this review...I realized some of the problems with the game I anticipated are actually true.

Yeah, that is weak. How hard is it to make a bunch of simple little side quests? Especially when the damn games been in development for 5 years.

Many fans were quite dissapointed - they actually think 9.1 and 9.3 is dissapointing, considering the hype this game has garnered.

Seems blue box had to cut down most of the revoltionary features.

this game seems like it'll have less options than kotor, becuase it won't have two endings like kotor did, and if your evil you can't join evil people or bosses, and it just seems waay to short and according to team x-box the story pretty much sucks.

i'm sure it'll be fun and all but i still think that the four years of hype was not at all worth a 15-20 hour game :(

The last good console FPS. :)

Besides, no console RPG will ever equal Betrayal at Krondor.

isnt funny that people that are drooling a b movie sci fi shooter think fable is below them?

I though RPG's began on pieces of paper and involved lots of dice rolling.....

(Also required and not included: A table, a few people, A DM and a large amount of alcohol.)

Isn't it funny that you are a troll and have to compare HL2 with another game, in every freakin thread. :frown:
