First Update

aww man i knew about that update before he did, i just thought that it didnt really require a thread, because the admins would find out soon enough. i wanted my name on the front lol

but on a serious note - well done VALVe, keep it up :thumbs:
 
At this pace we can expect the beta to end faster! :D
 
I bet the beta will end no later than August 30th. Bugs seem to be few and far between and they need to get the game finalized anyway for gold status.

Yeah, why remove grenade jumping? Which I assume is jumping higher than normal via the grenade concussion.

People were getting on top of things they were not supposed to be able to.
 
Grenade Jumping made it possible to do that infamous trick called Sky-walking in CS. Of course they would fix it.
 
why cant they just move the 'sky' alot higher, so you cant walk on it

because they weren't actually jumping onto the skybox, from what I've heard one guy was playing CT and the Ts were grenade jumping onto the roof of the building and taking the CTs out from there. It's an exploit that ruins map balance and let's face it as unrealistic as parts of CS are- it ain't grenade jumping unrealistic....hence FIXED :naughty:

okay, well it wouldnt fix the problem of them jumping up onto the roof, but skywalking is possible in quite a few maps, and throughout all the updates 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 etc, they havnt done anything to fix it. i just thought the obvious solution would be for example on dust, to move the 'sky' further upwards (or whatever brush in the map you are walking on).
