My god now I know where valve gets its ideas from!!!

look at the Humpback Anglerfish (Melanocetus johnsoni)

It looks just like ol Ichiosore!!! (cant spell it) :)

Most of them live so deep you wouldnt seem them even if they ate you :p

There's some freaky stuff out thar in all that watah!

These fish are so deep you would be able to go down that far. You wouldn't see anything.

That just makes it worse that you couldn't see them, lol

wow those are bib mother ****ers. this is kind of like the thread i started about carpet bugs. the difference is you would notice if a fish was in your carpet! well, some people (*cough* sulkdodds) wouldnt.

I heard that some of those fishes live really really deep in the water, in fact, there's no light and they adapted to that by the ability make their own light.
I believe it was the angle fish or something like that.

The angler fish! Ya know... the one in Finding Nemo?!

I also watched this 'Top 10 Freakiest Animals' show once... and that one was first place!

And people say sea monsters are made up...Who knows What Lies Beneath Tm?

There is some freaky stuff on this planet, and we dont know half of it.

Oh and, why dont i rate the chances of the little guy much?

A lot of those cant live that deep, because they seem to be left at normal atmosphere level inside no preasurised container. If they really were from way deep down, then they would explode like a human in space.

many of them have little lights in front of them. i rememeber reading about alot of these fish when i was in 6 and 7th grade. very cool, and very easy to tell these fish still look very Prehistoric.

you would never make it alive by swimming down that far to see one, your lungs would be crushed before making it 1/3 of the way down. and if u did make it deeper then usuall you would freeze to death.

I liked to catch crabs on the beach when i was younger but i liked the crabs that had big shells and they would hide there bodies in them.

Because they were afraid of me the big on shore sea monster :)

The first thing i thought of when i seen that crab was hope i dont get served anything like that at a resteraunt thats freaky looking.

/me shudders

I hate deep-sea creatures, they're creepy... with the huge eyes and mouth, and masses of teeth, and... ugh!

The Ichyosaur in Half-Life scared me so bad when I saw it first time. I leapt into that pool of water, turned round after hearing the growl, and almost screamed! (stop laughing!)

/me sings...

"shippi did a shitti in a little dishy shippi did a shitti when the monster came innnnnnnn"

the deep-stargazer is neat. he looks kinda funny, not threatening... kinda like an oversized koi with different finnage and weird colors.........

but the spider thing is scary, i don't like insects with long legs.

this fish is awesome. it can get 2 feet long, and you can buy it at petsmart... and stick it in your fish tank and train it to eat out of your hand.

you know giant spidercrabs can reach a span of 10 feet and that crabs are very closely related to normal spiders...

/me shudders..

Dont like those crabs? well watch this video. You may have seen it before... Its called "Crab vs. Pipe"

http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/video/crab.php

"This is a video taken in 6000 feet of water. An undersea robot is sawing a 3mm wide slit (1/10th of an inch ... remember that width) in a pipeline. The pressure inside the pipeline is 0 psig, while the pressure outside is 2700 psi, or 1.3 tons per square inch. Then a crab comes along...."

Mwahahahhahahaaaaaaa :naughty:

Heheh, the Blobfish is just so cute :E.

The sea spider's not an insect, BTW. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not even a crustacean. I think it's an unusual and limited genus.

Or am I thinking about dandelion creatures, LOL?

I've read some strange stories about things dredged up from the deep...

what is it? fish that is?

cant say ive seen one (or eaten for that matter)
