Flagship Studios closed for all intents and purposes.

Hopefully the investors can pool together some cash, start a small new company, and launch Mythos.

It's upsetting, they did have lots of talent. Can't see I didn't see this one coming though.

Pity I heard nothing but good things about Mythos tbh.

Looks like users are unable to cancel their subscriptions because of "technical" difficulties.
Ohh, tis be funny in so many ways. I point and laugh at you lifetime subscribers. The "elite" players get seats in the front row to the "going down the shitter" show. Enjoy!

Flagship's a testament to the mantra that new companies shouldn't aim for the sky right from the start

I think it's less that they aimed too high than that they tried to aim that high and do it quickly, and they didn't do anything the easy way. They had their own server architecture, their own client, their own chat, their own graphics engine, their own everything basically. Plus they wanted a game that could support thousands of concurrent connections with no downtime, had an engaging single-player campaign, and could support an ongoing, persistent world. It was like picking everything that's hard to do in a game, and then putting it on a brand-new company (two of them, really) with people who hadn't worked together before.

I always disliked their idea of charging for the "elite" multiplayer espect, I'd be pissed off if I'd bought one of those.

wait, whats going to happen to hellgate london, its going pretty well, especially in the asian countries

They'll drop subscriptions and support it with ads and microtransactions!

Now now, dont be an idiot.

Nothing idiotic about it.

They couldn't handle the amount of whiners that came with their buggy Hellgate London, so they closed their doors. :|
Cowardice.

Thats being idiotic actually. They didnt shut down because people were complaining. They shut down because it was decided that the company couldnt function in a financially justifiable manner. There were a lot of problems with the company outside of the game, and it would have been a stupid move for them to go broke trying to stick it out for no reason. It was a logical business decision that anyone would have made. A company that doesnt get along well, doesnt make money, and puts out a product that is just a money drain for them is a company not worth having.

Huh, never looked at it that way.

Makes sense, I was just getting a "Alright, nobody likes our games... we quit." vibe from the whole ordeal.

Damn, I was going to play the sequel/expansion.

Wish they'd release the script or plot line for it.

Wait....

If they cut all product lines, does that mean the original games go up in price..
Several years on? :P

oh shit yeah, hellgate london is gonna make me rich!!
